Maybe some are expecting us to clean chimneys or re-do the roof of one’s house… Well, our projects have a different nature: Although I call them GENIUNE projects for all the efforts, time and talents of all us involved, the one we completed on Saturday, was precisely: A Mission Organisation Project. Two DIY team members, Marmark and Mister_Sark, (Paz, Leslie and Claudia you were excused this time:) took over the re-arrangement of my cellar to turn it from a "no walking through cellar" to a "living space", a well organized cellar with shelf and a good size wine rack so I can comfortably sit and drink wine in the cellar in times of a nuclear attack:)
I big, big thank you to Mary and Ulli for all the hard work (I really enjoyed supervising you guys this time :)) and for your dedication (Ulli to have slept only 3 hrs night before and still had to do all the drilling :), and for you Mary, to arrange the transportation to fit all the shelves we bought). And by the way, for once, I enjoyed walking around IKEA (I didn’t say we shopped there, did I?!:). It was great fun to work with you guys, and look forward to our next project!

Elda forgot to mention the delicious meal she prepared for us, no details here or you'll be salivating on your keyboards....
She also forgot to mention that she planned ahead exactly what was needed at the IKEA so all we had to do was pick it up and assemble the shelving.
Mister Sark HAS to be commended a second time for being such a true gentleman: how many of us would spend their Saturday fulfilling a promise to go to IKEA and to build shelves for someone after 3 hours of sleep following a night shift? And how many of us would do it with style and a smile? The photos will testify to that!
The DIY group is all about making a difference in someone's home. A home is an intimate expression of a person. So, in the process of DIYing someone's flat, you discover that person's personality far more profoundly than you would at a party.
Thank you Elda and Mister Sark for the fun and successful Saturday.
Next project: Mission Claudia: Bedroom decoration.
Good week to All!

pros..!! Can you "do" or suggest something for my mini flat? I am totally stupid with my hands. Don't even know how to drill a hole in the wall without destroying the whole wall in the process.
I'll cook for all of you if my food is any good??
Cheers,
Mike

I say "yes" if Jackie can help with the painting party in my appartment. Plus I heard he cooks really good canine dishes.

Thank you Elda and Mary for ths wonderful saturday.
I had a lot of fun. Since i had two cans of red bull for breakfast and Eldas coffee i wasn´t really tired although i was close to dozing off on the way back to geneva, sorry mary for not being very talkative during our trip back.
this was one of my most efficient trips to ikea, no hour long looking for what i might want just straight to the i want this this and this. Thank god that there were no screaming kids, guess all the parents checked them into the ball prison before entering the main exhibition.
thank you elda for the fab food, i really want the recipe for that feta thingie you made, delicious. thank you mary for organizing that monster of an suv so we were able to get eldas stuff and the mirror i was longing for.
can´t wait for the next project.
jackie, you cook, we check out your apartment and make it pretty, what do you think?

To the new FAB FIVE:
Can I be the fly on the wall for your next project(s)? I too could desparately use lessons / tips on decorating a home...
Not to sound like a auction / bidding war, but I too can offer to cook, however all i need is hanging up a new art piece that I acquired this weekend onto a wall that looks like hard plastered wall ^_^ - YouMeCo

Hello DIYers! Mutual thanks warmly exchanged.
Now: Project Claudia (bedroom and painting hanging) is for June 27th (Wednesday) at 6:00pm. chez Claudia (aka Biorb_Owner).
For Jackie and YouMeCo, please contact Biorb_Owner for directions if you would like to just meet the group the first time. We can then discuss the remaining projects and add yours to the list and find dates. Timing is getting crucial here, as summer vacations are arriving.
Cheers to all and check out the pictures of Project Elda!

but in the meantime, before we go onscreen as a form of warning to innocent, would-be DIYers, you can check out the pictures of our First Project Ever - Look under DIY.
You might change your mind about associating with us or taking advice....
Cheers to all!
