As many memebers, I’ve seen Paul’s post offering a free foot analysis session. As a few, I’ve wondered what it meant. As a few less, I’ve decided to give it a try. Many friends were waiting for a feed back on that experience before taking their chance, so here it is.
First things first:
- Paul exists, looks as he does on his profile. He isn’t, to my knowledge, an axe murderer a serial rapist. Doesn’t look like one at least. I can even say I found him really friendly
- The session was really free and without any further obligation, as announced
- The sessions takes place at the Grinberg center, a nice, clean, quiet and serious looking and relaxing place
So, all I knew about the Grinberg method before going there could be summed to something like “a way to shrink the feet”. I was expecting some kind of shiatsu massages or similar, and I was wrong. After welcoming me, Paul invited me to sit on a table and take my socks off. He explained me a bit how the session would go on, if I felt ok about it and as I was, he started. He looked at my feet for about 10 minutes, writing notes, drawing lines on a piece of paper and slightly frowning a professional way. No need to say, I was really wondering how many things could he be seeing on just 2 flat pieced of flesh and 10 foot fingers. I might have seen I felt curious and invited me to ask questions if I wanted too. I just left him do his job. Then, he asked me if he could touch my feet. How could I say no when I was expecting a massage ! As if he new in advance, he pressed on some spots I didn’t knew could be slightly painful. Then he asked me lots of questions about my lifestyle, eating habits, sleeping schedules etc. After that, he started the “gosh, you got me” questions.
Believe it or not, that boy managed to ask me questions that pushed me in my psychological corners in no time. Apparently, he had been able to see my typical behavior patterns just looking at my feet. I am a very skeptical cartesian person, not easily fooled or impressed by “inner power” theories, astrology or similar crap. But let me tell you, Paul saw through me better than a shrink had managed in 3 months, and better than some long term friends ever have. As I was very curious about how he could do that, he very kindly shared with me the basics of the Grinberg theory and the main aspects he had noticed in me. And what he was saying bloody matched ! This was, I must say, quite disturbing. It left me with a bizarre sensation. But as Paul has never been judgmental or assuming anything, but only asking questions, I didn’t felt bad at all. Just shaken up a bit, like facing a mirror for the first time after a few days of hiking in the woods, to give you a picture. On my way home, some questions turned in my head. I faced the evidence that I would need to find a better answer to them than the actual ones.
For all that, the Grindberg method might not be a “shrink for the feet”, but it’s a bloody effective way to make you have a clear look on yourself and think about improving. I would recommend this enlightening experience to anyone. Ever more if you believe that everything is fine in your life and you don’t need it ! ;-)
Thanks again to Paul for his kindness, professionalism and friendliness. I’m not an expert, but I would easily bet you’ve got what it takes to be a great practitioner. Thanks again and good luck !
