Geneva Curry night goes to Lady Godiva.

Dear curry friends.

A big huge THANK YOU goes to everyone who managed to show up last night!

Curry was excellent - AND as said many times before - the best in town - so CONGRATS Lady Godiva. Also the Bar staff was super friendly - thank you for looking after us.

Glen is reserving an entire area for us, so please only sign up if you are 100 % sure that you are actually attending!

This was on the actual invite - shame that certain people can simply not respect the organizer nor the actual Rest in this case the Pub.

Certain people could not even be bothered to drop a line.... Thank you no-shows!

Even better, someone resereved a seat and for two friends, he turned up - but not he's friends.

One of the excuses.... and from "a so called Glocals friend"

I am sorry but I am forced to drop out this time!
Hope there is someone in the waiting list!

All what I can say right now - shame on all the 8 no-shows...so called "glocals friends".

A big huge THANK You goes to the Geneva Runners. Cool

For future events for Glocals members = pay up front.

So you think people should be forced to show up and eat dinner? Do you really want a bunch of unhappy people eating with you? Lighten up, change the system or build in some flexibility. People have lives to live and I don't believe that a curry night falls above many other life issues.

I have done curry night a few times, but I would skip coming for any number of reasons, any of which may be completely unpredictable.

"For future events for Glocals members = pay up front." is complete segregation. If one has to pay up front, then all should be made to pay up front.

I haven't yet attended a curry night, but look forward to doing so some time soon.

I agree that, if food is being prepared and provided, it's common courtesy to let the organisers know you will or won't be there.  I hope it's not impossible for people to drop a line to join up or give advance notice (say 24 hours) if one can't attend.

A note to organisers: perhaps one way would be to order a fixed number of curries and any people coming without signing up will not be served.  Likewise, the fixed number could be slightly fewer than those signed up, that way no shows won't make a huge difference to the order.
