I had a fab time at the party. I can't wait to see the evidence. I was really impressed by the Sax player... really great stuff having the live music and DJ together.
Thanks to all the team for making it a really special night. Amazing to think that I have a tshirt saying "2000 Member party March 2006" and here it is June, just one year later, and we have more than 10000 members. WOW...

What can I say... you guys know how to bring a crowd. Can't imagine what GVA must've been like before Sindy/GOL.... Was sooo great to finally meet the Wolfy, and to see most everyone I know/met since arriving to GVA 7months&17days ago.
Would be interesting to know how much $ was raised!!
Have a restful Sunday everyone!

it was GREAT guys! well done!
i had an amazing time. really. too many things to mention so will let people who know, remember, and people who don't, imagine.
met lots of people: special mention to Oded, as he is, after all, SiteAdmin, and rarely in GVA. for everyone else, see you again very soon!
could just about make out our 10,000th member and the pie throwing thing from where i was dancing (like mad, as usual), but got to see the results on the cream-covered guys once i'd fought my way through the crowd.
very very cool, guys! when's the next one?
;)

Guys thanks for the great atmosphere & organization
Great DJ, loved the music, ok drinks (they tried as fast as they could) & cool dancefloor.
Only one feedback on that : there was a table in the dance floor (some people reating/drinking from before 22:00 I assume) that took too much space & in a party like this you NEED every inch u can get.
I would really like to understand how much money is raised & we should promote more the success story of actually contributing to charity. It's great to say it (it's for cahrity), it's even better when we say how much money was raised from the activites we participate in. This also gives the incentive to more people to join if it's transparent we are helping from time to time! Thanks again

Thank you all very much for that great party, such GOL spirit like! :)
But the best was to share it with you all guys!!!! Especially with some very special ones ... Thank you Tinkie, but I won’t begin to quote names, as I’ll probably forget some… But I’m sure you know, crazy friends, that it was wonderful dancing like mad, drinking and laughing with you !
Great pleasure to eventually meet you Oded, Nir and Julian! Congrats for organizing such a night!
I must confess I am part of the girls who can testify that Julian was dressed as real Scot indeed!!! And true he has a very soft skin ;)
And what about the ones who helped Busstop with his creamy face????
In a nutshell, huge party, happy faces, crazy night ended around 4am, woke up at 7 to catch my flight …harsh Sunday…
But give me a few days, and I’m ready for the next party!

What a fantastic night! the people!! the setting!! the organization always amazes me...it just all worked!!
It was great to meet you two...Nir and Oded. I can honestly say the times I have felt the most "at home" in Geneva were at Sindy parties...way back when! and now at Gol events.
Other great bits, thanks to SWISS for printing my profile so Daniel and I could get in! And thanks to Julian T. great to see you in a skirt....oh sorry!! a kilt.

had such a great time so thankyou so much for organising it. was sooo nice to see everyone :-) i think i was the only one who turned up in just a bikini!! but got dressed pretty quickly lol. i really loved the whole atmosphere and the setting and the music and the people and everything! but it did get very crowded and the bars ran dry fairly quickly. and i made quite a few new friends in the loooooong toilet queue! but apart from that it was an absolutely fantastic night, thank you so much. bring on the next one!!

I like to echo Youmeko.
It will be quite meaningful if all participants who had a fun night can be informed openly about the status of charity donation from that night which is contributed to the World Food Program to feed hungers. Preferably breaking down into two categories, profits and extra donations from GOLers who wore swimsuit…
When I entered the UN beach at 8:30, I told a gentleman in the entrance that I had wear a swimsuit, do I need to take off my clothes here or do I enter and change?
He certainly wasn’t impressed. He was jokingly telling me: well, then you need to wear bikini..…Then, after seriously asking again, he said, “I am sorry but I think this is only for girls who wear swimsuit”.
It was certainly not what has been announced in the forum (quote: Swim suits for charity: for every guest wearing a swim suit, our partner eBookers will donate another CHF 20 for charity) and would have been fitting into a sexist act which this community totally holds against.
Why it would have been fitting into a sexist act? Do I need to explain here? I really don’t think so given the fact that a vivid gender equity atmosphere thriving in this community forum from time to time.
I told him this is not what has been announced””…I was looking for Nir to figure out what was going on….
Then I met Tinkie and Minda and told them what the guy just told me.
They, slightly pissed, I guess, went straight away to the entrance… then …came back with a victorious smile… told me: Wayne; your “silly” swimsuit counts 10 CHF “despite you are not as pretty as we are” (“I can read their mind despite they did not literally say “@#%^”....).
Salute to Tinkie and Minda for making the community a step further toward gender equity. I also like to thank Nir for clarifying the misunderstanding straight away.
I was delightedly to heart that and went swimming and playing Frisbee with Tinkie and others fellows… By the way Tinkie’s Frisbee skill is now semi professional…
I have absolutely no problem with people making profits. People’s efforts need to be rewarded properly. However we expect people to do what they said they will ...and being transparent and open is very critical in a charity event. While just a few people who wear swimming suite for the charity purpose, their efforts still need to be recognized, appreciated and encouraged.
Therefore, a simple report and calculation on what has gone to WFP will be a decent act, apart from a great night we all enjoyed, “It was good while it lasted” as someone said to me day after.
Thanks again to Nir and all other volunteers who put this great night together.
I told him this is not what has been announced””…I was looking for Nir to figure out what was going on….

my return around the party!!! What a night!! GOL definitely knows how to throw a party and what is more fun than spending the night with a bunch of your friends on a beach with some tunes and drinks?!?!
Everyone who was involved in the planning, organizing and making sure that everything went smoothly did a fabulous job!

...u had a great blast there! yeah!
And unfortunately I couldn't join u since I was still in Madrid for a business trip... :-(
In any case, this year I have missed some events already and I look forward to catching up with all golers soon but at the same time I am happy 2 c the Community growing and participating with that smiling... how many familiar faces always doing well!
My votes:
- Nir, Oded & Iolly 10/10 (the Community mood is that good cos of u!)
- Volunteers 10/10 (u r always the best, by definition...once again, u lighted the smiles and u did a great job!)
- JulianT 10/10 (I think u r the GOLer of the year!)
- GOLers 10k :-) cos "For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack"... :-)
Even if I wasn't there, thank you ALL 4 bringing the good time in GVA! ;-)
Won't miss the next...agree with bustop...let's go 4 the next asap!
BEMISSING :-(

watching the pics of the party from italy, for the first time I am tempted to say that I'd have switched 1 day on the beach for this. It looked like a great evening, pepole chatting dancing and having fun .. and if you look carefully in all the pics you can see ALL the usual suspects :)
Good job guys, looking forward to the next one!!

Just a note for the next big event... I think that the toilets at the UN beach didn't cope with the number of people, and subsequently the queues for the ladies were an hour long, and many men resorted to using the bushes. (with less than pleasant consequences for the 'scent' of the party)
Maybe it might be an idea to hire a portaloo or two next time...

For all the hard efforts put in by the organizers, volunteers and party-goers, again a round of applause, but surely we should have a tally by now on how much we raised, no??!
I was there all night from beginning to ending and didn't notice any mention about our charitable cause (apart from the poster boards) nor see any representatives from the organization thanking the members for our contributions, or did I just miss this amidst of all the noise?! Will the Charitable Organization be sending GOL a letter of receipt for what they receive from us?
Call it an occupational hazard of mine, but as an internal investigator i question everything and require facts/evidence from all my subjects. I know GOL is not a public company, but surely as a member, I have a right to know, no??
Alternatively, if ANY LAST STRAGGLERS REMEMBERs YOUR TICKET NUMBER, pls let me know. We can roughly estimate how many people entered the grounds x 25(I know I had ticket #9).
Join me on this trail if you're "Curious" as well.

Oded states that "More than 1000 GoLers joined the party" so we must have raised more than CHF25'000 and then the add-on donations.....
A nice sum that WFP surely will appreciate to receive!!!
Because, I presume that charges such as admin, DJ, security etc are deducted from what is generated on the consumtion (drinks etc), as is the case at free-entry beach events such as the Cindy-WakeBoard and the WindSurf parties next to Geneva Beach.

I also like to urge on a full disclosure of this great and fun charity event. I like to believe the organizers are working on it. We can wait and be patient.
I believe this shows very basic respect to those people we tried to help. It would be, indeed, an exploitation of those suffered and a good cause if a basic principle of being transparent and full disclosure of a fundraising event could not be fulfilled.
I do not think this will be a case in GOL since this is a fun, open and just community we’re all proudly be part of.
Again, all the organizers and volunteers deserve one more round of applaud for their hardworking for such a good cause and good fun night.

Ofcourse we'll piblish the entire detailed budget, like we promised in last week's email.
We'll have the final numbers from the UN later this week, but the draft numbers I have so far show the total profit is just under CHF 14000, of which 100% is going to the World Food Programme...not bad at all, eh?

just wanted to say they were there and they did make a speech. this was probably lost on anyone not on the dance floor at that particular time. the girl was telling us all about how little it took to feed a child for a year all over again (informative for those who didn't know, but Jerome couldn't wait for her to stop talking).

you've got to substract security/waiters/DJ's wages, so it won't be a full 2500 CHF...
