Hit the (Volley)Ball@Plainpalais?-Obituary

Obituary for „Hit the (Volley)Ball@Plainpalais“ (Summer 2008)

Well, it is gone, the net, the court, the sand (dog poo and other stuff included).

Oh dear volleyball court at Plainpalais,

you are no longer among us, the best located court for sure!

A summer long of more or less sporty Wednesdays – volleyball profs or beginners – it was very social – across all professions and nationalities (even scary guys with or without knives in their pants:(), we will miss you!

Even though we had some victims and most volley-balls were scared by dogs, cars and trams, we sometimes even needed to split and played over a badminton net in parallel...and just to clarify for once and all, that was not a dating activity-it was fun for and with both genders!!

Why oh why have they removed you, oh beloved court!!! Volleyball matches could be replaced by rocking horse races on the kids playground or a balancing competition on a giraffe´s neck now, but who wants that (if ever this is happening, let me know, though)!!

No net, no place, so I’ll have to go and look for new grounds in Zurich L

Thanks to everyone who helped making last summer’s Wednesdays such a sporty pleasure!

A sad

Oooooh BB08, I loved playing beach volleyball all summer long last year, and especially this "unknown" of who - strange people or not - would be attending also made this activity special. :)

I will miss it this year - not the dogs' poos though -and I will miss such a team player.
There's little chance that we will find another such well-located spot, but if we do, I will think of you!
Will also call you if we bump into giraffes, just by any chance - he he  :P

The municipality is stupid. They don't know what they're losing.
