When people left the Old Countries to start a new life in the New World, often friends and family would gather before the departure to celebrate and say goodbye. We did this when Broghan left in December for Australia. But she was a good friend to many of us and certainly kept us entertained, so we got together again last night for another wake.
A couple of us in last night's gathering had never met Broghan, so we filled them in on the wonders of Broghan. Whether it was hitting the slopes or the bottle, she lived well while she was here. We passed around a message board so that people could sign it or write stuff on it. I got to meet some new people last night as well which was lovely.
It has been a long week for all of us, so it was an early but happy night. Many thanks to Laura, Kat, Gabriella, Corinne, Jill, Danica and the good humoured barman and patrons at Spring Bros last night. I know you were all trying to watch the match, but it was boring; we were much more fun. :)

I thought I vaguely recognised some people in Spring Brothers last night, but wasn't sure if I'd actually met them before (and was being rude not saying hi) or whether they were just people whose faces I'd seen on here. Glad to know it was the latter. ;-)
Looks like you were having fun though (and yes, the match was very boring).
