It was honestly one of the best GoL events, and any event infact, I'd been to. Thanks a million to Nasra, Adesa, and the rest of the Kenyan group who did this.
The magic for me was in 2 things:
- an amazing culture mix. For the 1st time, I learned about a very diffirent culture, danced Kenyan music with Kenyans, ate Kenyan food with Kenyans, heard their stories (including how Anthony killed 4 lions!), and saw their pride. The best part was when the Kenyan music played, and we were 30 people, black and white, dancing it together. It just felt so human and so good.
- the efforts the Kenyan team put into 'teaching' us about their country. They worked from 11 am (!!!) to make food for us, wore their traditional robes, brought the beamer and the Kenyan deco and the Kenyan deco...amazing work, that made us feel very welcome.
One of the best events I had been to ever. Thanks a lot Nasra, Brown Suga, and the rest of Kenya team!!!
I more members will pick this up and we could start learning about all the cultures on GoL...

Wonderful thanks to everyone who came and made the evening a great success. And Kudos to all who learnt some Kenyan dances. Thanks to Aliya and Brownshuga for organizing.
Was great to have the opportunity to share our country with you all. We look forward to having GoL members come to Kenya and visit us.

...."genes"!! hehehe
Thanks for the kind words! I would definitely love to experience more of the dancing!! That would be a cool activity to learn some African dance moves - a demonstration followed by a "workshop"! We just need more space (and booze to loosen us all up)!!
;)
