The spacy lobby of the Alpha Palmier Hotel is a very nice setting for the Lausanne Afterwork drinks.
There was a surprisingly large turnout, more than a hundred glocals came along for a drink and a chat, some coming early, some late. The surprise being that nearly half of the attendance was not present at the January drinks and so the potential attendance for these drinks is huge.
Thanks to all attending for bringing in smiles and good moods - pictures will be appearing soon on the glocals website.
Looking out to meeting you again at the March 6th drink.

Thanks Jasper. I enjoyed the evening. The Palmier was certainly a lovely location, with lots of space and light. I enjoy the chance to chat and meet new and old friends in a purely social situation. Look forward to the next. Marcia

you know what they say....an american expression.
"if it's not broken.....don't fix it"
the friday night drinks once a month is great and very successful, so, don't change it.
we all look forward to this event, and sometimes no news is good news.
if people weren't satisfied they would say so.
thanks again for organising this event.

Thank you, Jasper for once again organizing such a successful event. The lobby area was spacious, airy and smoke-free (much appreciated by some of us). It's too bad your usual helper had a "better offer" at the last minute :D (inside joke).
I think the hotel did a great job in setting up a special bar for us. I think they could have made even more money if they had taken appetizer/starter orders! The scent drifting over from the restaurant area was very tempting.
Oh, it was also good to see familiar faces once again, and to meet a few new ones. And to those who I continued on with after the event to the next place (and then went on to the next and more?), I hope your "morning" ended well!

Dear Jasper,
The success of the Glocals Afterwork Drinks is a tribute to you. You make them as enjoyable as they are, by selecting and organising good venues, sending out the invitations, greeting everyone, making introductions, and by being you.
It is thanks to you that so many people enjoy and appreciate this wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and new. A big thank you.
Jane
PS I like the Alpha Palmier a lot. There is space, it is quick and easy to get a drink, the wine is good and reasonably priced , there is no smoke, and no background music. Because there are no chairs, people move about more and mix, rather than staying in one place. But that's just my opinion ;).
