2 things I've seen working well in glocals' Get-together events in GVA and Zurich, for you to see if you want to also do in Lausanne:

• Have 'Connectors' walking around.
  The Connectors are outgoing folks, whose role is to introduce strnagers during the night, and help guests break the ice. 2 keys to making it work: the connectors have to be outgoing and friendly, and they have to be clearly identified to the others (by wearing a special shirt, or badge, etc).
•  At some point during the night, have a public announcement encouraging folks to speak with 'strangers'.
  This 'reminder' sometimes helps drive even more of the friendly spirit.

Again, the Lausanne events are going great, and you know your baby best. So these are just ideas to throw at you, for your consideration.

I can not remember having attended another LoL After Work with so many people, a great start of the new year! Is that due to everybody's new year's resolutions ("Next year I will do more for my social life")?



I really liked the venue, drinks are a bit expensive, but at least you get good olives and nuts with your drink and the atmosphere is very classy (and it's non-smoking)..

With so many friendly people, I have not even been able to say hi and wish a happy new year to everybody I know - whenever I wanted to cross the room to get a drink or to say hello to someone on the other end of the room I got stuck somewhere on my way and met some nice people... so happy new year to all those I did not really greet yesterday although I saw them (Frohes Neues Jahr, Jens ;)!)

The New Years Drink was organized in the beautiful setting of the Lausanne Palace, a 5 star hotel.

The attendance was impressive 150 glocals signed up.

The success is based on each bringing in high spirits and enthousiasm which make these drinks so special and exciting (I couldn't sleep for part of the night). So thanks to all of you.

Special thanks go to Julian and Elizabeth for the help at the reception desk, and to Jens with the picture making.

It was indeed a lovely evening and I particularly enjoyed the elegant setting.
