Happy New Glocals Year !
This memorable New Years Drink was a good start of 2008
The turnout was unprecedented with more than 100 members present (about 30 New members, 10 from Geneva and 60 from Lausanne and the coast between Montreux and Nyon). Thanks to all for joining and making this drink so successful.
Fortunately the exceptional venue also offered exceptional service by making the beautiful and spacy lobby available for our glocals community.
Thanks to everybody who gave a helping hand, in particular our hostess Elisabeth and of course Julian.
Thanks for those who came from faraway Geneva and even stayed until the last train.
See you at the next drink in February.

a 5 star hotel...absolutely fantastic an lots of style...great to start LOL drinks like that....absolutely amazing and great crowd and a gret atmosphere. Jasper you put the level high up there...difficult to beat that and the variety and discoveries of places you offer us!...Am wondering where the next venue will be....:-)

Met Youmeco at the Geneva train station. We were immediately lost in catching up and our conversations. Little did we realize that we were waiting on the wrong platform for the train to Lausanne. A last minute discovery and a dash, helped us catch the train and smile at ourselves.
From Lausanne train station, a steep climb up towards St Francois. A left turn, and we saw an elegantly decorated and cheerfully lit Lausanne Palace. There in the big lobby - humming Glocals crowd.
Youmeco got busy welcoming and spreading her hello through the crowd.
For me, it was a pleasure to meet and feel the warm welcome from Lausanne veterans again. It was a delight to discover so many new members... from Portugal, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Costa Rica, Canada, India, Australia, France, Romania, USA, etc.
2008 looks like another promising year for events in Lausanne.

what a shabby and run down venue. and only a few people showed up, dressed as if they were coming from a ship wreck. also, they were drunk and dissorderly. no one bothered to say thank you and this will be easily forgotten as a start to the new year. it was easy to see that jasper, elizabeth and julian had better things to do than try and make this event attractive and decent. so much for my comments from the "Bizzaro" world.....where everything is opposite and backwards. ERUCIPE

What a fantastic turnout!
And so many familiar faces from Geneva as well.
As others have already stated, this was a beautiful setting fit for a New Yr's Drink.
I can easily predict 2008 will continue to be on the growth trend for LoL members.
