MBA panel

Thank you Nir :)
It was great opportunity to do some thinking of your goals in professional carreer plus picture some possible perspectives of achieving those goals. The speakers were wonderful (more than 50 percent of them not boring makes it a fabulous event, right? :), programmes and institutions presented were smth to consider seriously, and so many GoLers there - ain't that cool?!? (Wait, I hope everyone there was GoL, no?)
Personally I had fun listening to Mr Erik Slingerland from Egon Zehnder, and the lady from IMD did a good job doubtlessly - I want to go to IMD!! I guess the masculine part of the audience was enchanted by the charming appearance of Miss Petra.... :)))
I just wish I could get some miracle scholarship and avoid that 40 000 CHF investment they were mentioning so easily. Maybe I do need to create some nice company so I could pay for my studies how to make one :P
Dovile
PS: Regarding the "Going together to the MBA panel" effort - no shows are not funny whe you have a tight schedule. What do we do with no-shows on GoL...?!?! So guys, you know who you are, and pls be informed that I marched around the central hall of the Gare Cornavin with the really funny paper in my hand until 5.15!!! Hrrr....

...but it's hard to get people to comment, sadly.
I will tell you my impression of the Panel: mixed.
I thoght that overall, it was good and informative.
But the presentation levels were very different. The IMD and Egon Zehnder presentations were great and spot on when I needed to learn, the other presentations were less focused and good.
What think?

Hi Doville,
IMD is surely great but cost is far more than 40K --
Regular MBA fees are chf 90K + expenses
Exec MBA fees chf 115K + expenses.
(the expenses add up to a reasonable figure as well!)

Recd. quite a few queries related to my post on IMD costs ....let me clarify,
-- Although the IMD fees sound high, they are in the same range as most of the Ivy League business schools (wharton, harvard...) as also INSEAD, LBS.
-- As an alumni, given the course content and other factors.... would surely recommend IMD for those who plan to pursue studies since they do give the mobility to move into a better, more challenging career.
-- the course is rigorous (reflected on their ranking) so one should consider time commitment.
quality and "value" for money are key indicators, eventually it is investing for your future!
all the best!
