It was my first musical chairs dinner and I had a lot of fun! It was very well organized and all the people were very nice. It is an excellent opportunity to meet new people.

Many thanks Nir for all the hard work you put in to make the musical chairs dinner such a success. I had a very enjoyable evening - the venue was great, both outdoors and in, food was very nice...and most importantly there was a great group of people - some familiar faces and lots of friendly people to meet for the first time. I was sorry to have to leave just after dessert in order to catch the last train.



Just a couple of suggestions on how to possibly make life easier for yourself for future dinners:

- If there is risk that bad weather will force the participants to move indoors, perhaps the tables could already be set both indoors and out, so once the final decision is made, the move can be made simply and easily

- Perhaps the table number for the first course could be handed to people as they pay their money at the door.



I am already looking forward to the next one. I had been disappointed to miss the previous ones due to age restrictions. Keep up the good work M :-)

Thanks for the specific points you raised - makes sense. Don't know if the venue will be able to set up both inside and outside at the same time, but next time we will not take risks. If the weather is risky, we'll go inside from the start.

This is my first time. I wasn't sure what to expect and asked several friends to go. At the end, I didn't even have time to catch up with old friends. I met new people and made new friends. A great way to social with strangers. Cannot make it next time when I will be travelling but for sure to attend when I am available.

Musical Chairs remains one of my favorite activities on Glocals - It's a great way to spend an evening, and to connect with people in greater depth than at a simple happy hour event or the like. I've made a couple of good friends through musical chairs since these got off the ground! Thanks again for organizing this!



The only thing I can think of that could be improved, from this last one, is the timing - it was so late by the time dessert was served that people seemed to be trickling out/fading... It would be be great to be able to finish dinner early enough to have time to mingle again at the end, and at the same venue (for those of us who might not feel up to going to Shakers so late on a weeknight!). One great example of this was a musical chairs that was organized some time ago in Nyon, where the post-dinner dancing took place at the restaurant itself.



A lso, forthe shyer ones among us who might not have had the nerve to ask someone for their contact info, or those of us with the inability to remember 50 peoples' contact names by the end of the night, it would be nice to have a list of names similar to the one you sent prior to the event, except one linking to people's profiles. Not sure how the others feel about that, but I think that would facilitate more follow-up afterwards.

I had a great time too. I felt a bit shy just before coming in but once I stepped onto that terrasse and got talking to people all my concerns went out the window. Perhaps more free-flowing welcome drinks would help even more in the future. I agree with Corinne that it would be nice to get a list of people's glocals pseudonyms.

I have to say I didn't care for the BJ jokes but, other than that, it was a very enjoyable and well-organized evening.

I also think that having only 4 people per table would be an improvement. A solution to meet even more people during the event would be to add one rotation – why not for the cheese? :P I also think that getting a guests list would help!

Hi,

I had a great time overall, good food and as usual friendly guests.

I think age is really a difficult issue without wanting to exclude people and at the same time everyone should get a chance to have fun and meet people.  Maybe there should be 2 musical chairs per month.  One would be 25-35 (geared for young grads in Geneva and young professionals) who are in one life stage and another for 35 and above.   Overall I did not mind and had a good chat with everyone.  But  I am a 36 year old, I am soo old, the wrinkles will come any day now!!!!  :P:P
