Musical chairs dinner! My bum is still singing :-)
Well kids, I'm gonna tell you a bedtime story.
Once upon a time... in a sad country called Geneva ... a nasty
w(b)itch cast a spell: (CREEPY VOICE) "there's too many interesting people here, funny, open-minded... coming from everywhere" she said. The nasty w(b)itch didn't like it [otherwise she would have been a happy b(w)itch enjoying and making loads of people happy, but that would be another story, rated 17 years old].
So she stole the meeting points -all of them, even in the airport- and she condemned all the interesting people to crawl around... without anywhere to find each other, aloooone, damned to stay home watching football [scary looks] or even Lost, Alias or... Desperate housewives :-O [The story is going too creepy for the little ones. It's time to go to bed!].
But then one day a little gnome called Nir [Nir a litte gnome? I'm hampering the credibility of the story, here!], a fairy called Lolly (yes, I said LLLLolly :-P] wearing magic fairy Dior flowery shoes
:-D, a big bad hairy werewolf called Siteadmin (what the heck of a name is this, by the way??:-P) and their gang of other wierd creatures, decided to break the spell, they made magic, smoke pot [no, that's another story again] and created new meeting point for all those funny interesting jolly good fellas who had been condamned to crawl around alone without ever meeting each other. People began to meet again, and discover that it was funny to have fun... that it's not compulsory to go to sleep at 22.00 just because your jerk neighbour calls the police even if you only have the TV on... that at work a good thread on the last stupid jokes is more involving than the urgent file that your boss put on your desk Friday evening at 17.45!
Winter was over, the sun shone (is it really spellt like that?) the skins grew darker, the clivages grew deeper...! Everything was fine and fun.
... and the w(b)itch?
She tries every now and then to find friends as well. Last times I heard from her she was hiding behind the false names of annasweet, vivian4you and suzzy4love...
But the big bad werewolf found her and shout to her: "This is not a dating site, you nasty b(w)itch!!!"
and he kicked her away for all genevans from everywhere to enjoy their happily ever after...
[what? this is not the story of the musical chairs dinner? you are right kids, but Granny's memory is not what it used to be anymore. Now go to sleep! You girls can dream that you are wearing Iolly's fairy Dior shoes ... and you boys can dream the X-rated 17 year old story I mentioned above]
Sleep tight, Granny can't give the good night kiss 'cause these two big men in white dresses and hats are inviting me to go with them and they even offered me this nice long shirt, with looong sleeves and belts that they are tying behind my back. (I'm not sure the color matches with the color of my eyes)

.....Granny needs to lay off the "juice"!! ;) Kisses to you, Stef!

Fun event last night, Iolly and Nir!! Thanks for all your hard work in making the evening a success! It was great to meet so many new GoLers (well, new to me that is)! And also to catch up with several friends!

Although....I noticed some empty seats and I know that the event was full! Did we have no-no no-shows?? :(

Looking forward to more nice dinners in the company of interesting people!! ;)

Yes, too much to think back about what we discussed each other during this evening.
Need to make waking up again my communication skills, something you don’t really need when wandering the genevan streets… (and for me working in the quiet and delicate environment of swiss watchmaking)
Anyway, I really had a good time, but the critics would go to the wine, the red one was not as good as the Rioja we had on the Lounge, the food portions were, like, mmmh, swiss-sized, I may say and the service was not always that strict in some circumstances.

My thanks goes to Nir, Lolly, Sherri, and the ones that I have forgotten for taking so much on their free time and make work those kinds of events.

Did anyone notice that the address for the musical chairs was wrong? Sometimes you have to be careful with addresses in Geneva as most streets are not marked (unless down by the lake) and the ones that are are difficult to see by car when the French car behind is practically up your bum. This could be a reason more people didn't show up for the party after. The dinner was great but seemed to wind down rather quickly! Should definately have another one! Thanks for organizing a great event.

Thank you all for the feedback. We already noticed some things to be improved for the next one (namely staff service and food portions). Even if they came from the restaurant, we have to take full responsibility for it, because you trust us with the GoL events and it's our role to make the best we can for you. An email was sent to all participants asking for feedback. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us.

Best,
Iolly (the fairy with the flower shoes...)
