My First Anniversaire!
Time flies when you’re having fun… and FuN is what I had on the 1 yr anniversary since arriving to Geneva. It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces, some of whom I’ve not seen for quite some time, other folks who just moved to Geneva. My only regret is that I wasn’t able to spend more time with you all, but rather hopping around like a looney or being whisked up in by 2 guys. PLEA-----se… I’ll do anything to have those photos abolished!!! You know which one’s I’m talking about! So to everyone there last night, those who couldn’t make it and countless others whom I’ve met throughout this year, THANKS for making these 12 months the most fulfilled Swiss experience up to now.

LadyGodiva quickly filled up with all the familiar faces. My “Break-o-Dawn Easy Hike” (a.k.a. “Blood Trail”) survivors, THANKS for coming out, particularly those that came from Lausanne!! Special thanks to SWISS for baking your infamous cakesss for this occasion. You’re a * (x5)! To Glen and his wonderful staff at LadyG, great job with the food selections and drink deals. Top Top service!! I will definitely be back again for future events.

Life in Geneva is like living in the TV show "Cheers" where everyone (eventually) knows your name if you’re a Glocal junky like myself. Ask me a year ago and I would never have imagined I'd meet this many wonderful people, have this much fun and actually survive one whole year with no TV. I give Nir & Oded and their supports 3thumbs up for their hard efforts maintaining this site. Thanks to this site, I have enjoyed the countless number of Glocal events: beer-drinking, curry-eating, midnight death-defying cliff-climbing, BBQs, 3am party til-u-drop-4-charity GoL 10K party, Glocal name conversion party, conversation cafes, "don't think we met but I've seen you around" or "finally nice to meet you!" moments, Sherri’s NMD, Minda’s TTD, Rasputin’s Wine & Tapas, SWISS’s Over 40’s, Busstop’s Pool, Berlin’s Conversation Cafes, personal home parties, Ehsaan’s Bollywood, Deano’s Curry, Britabroad’s Quizz nights (which I’ve YET to attend), Jasper’s really easy hikes, Hobbes’ sailing/fondue, Police Competition & Concert, future parties in ZoLand, JT’s bbqs & even ‘easy’ (not) hikes... the list is endless! I know I’m missing loads more, but people complain my reviews are too long. Yes Mom & Dad... I'm having a GREAT time!!

I can already see Part 2 of my stay will only get busier trying to do everything there is possible to do. For Glocal junkies like myself, I’d like to announce the opening of the Glocals Anonymous Group (“GAG”). Symptoms of a G-junky: you can’t go a few days or even hrs to check if you that flashing InBox; you read through all the forum threads, photos, adding comments to photos… then you too may be experiencing symptoms of addiction to this site. If you know and can explain the background to the hotly debated political discussions this summer involving 2 shades of sheep, why Hobbes ended up at the Police concert, why I'm cautious abot attending hikes organized by JT, why I temporarily became a white fluffy chicken, the difference between baking powder & baking soda,… need I say more?

Till we next meet, have a great weekend!

Very nice birthday party. It is normal to become addicted to glocals when you meet people so friendly than you.
See you soon in a lot of other events

...but I always considered them as nothing but common sense. C'mon, you must be kidding, EVERY member reads every post on the forum... don't they ? ?_o

Sorry about my very short appearance at your party. Felt too sick to show up again later on.

Im glad that glocals.com has been helpful, kind of scared that its become an addiction, and looking forward to your next anniversarie.

See you soon

Big thanks to the b-day gal - great occasion, great venue, great friends you have, and great spread, including once again that personal touch from Swiss and her yummy cakes.
Thanks for sharing your special Geneva-anniversary day with all of us in such a fun way - and needless to say, we all had a blast (censored and non-censored pix speak for themselves). You'll be sending all of us to GAG soon !
Hope this is one of many more events you will organize :-)

Andrei, thanks for posting them on Cern!

Also, thanks to the new Tribune thread on glocals, i now understand why BEMAD was complaining how it took him an hour to get all the way down to LadgG's. The Saudi King and his whole entourage came in the same night. next time i'll have my assistant request all dignetaries not to come same night of my party so as not to disrupt flow of traffic for my guests!!
