My perfect Easter weekend, thanks to GOL
Thursday evening: Freeeeeeedooooom ! Hiha ! Some holidays, ok, a long weekend, is more than welcome, I need it. I want to release my excess of energy as well. I’ve received an invitation to join the Kissme2night party, but apparently my usual party mates are gone, tired or busy. Anyway, small nap and ready to go, lipsticks watch out ! Surprisingly enough, some of my GOL friends are there (could it be possible that they would not tell me they were planning to go to save them the cutest girls ? Nah…). Great night, nice music, too loud and way too much smoke, as usual at Platinum (do they try to save money on the fans electricity bill ?), but nice people – many GOLers amongst them - and great organization team and spirit. Back home 4ish.

Friday morning, 9:30. My scooter doesn’t want to drive straight… am I still drunk ? After four hours of deck cleaning, ropes fixing, propeller maintenance and some electric work, my boat has turned from a greenish underwater garbage collector into a decent boat ready to sail. People are working on getting “La Terrasse” ready. I hear the sound check and memories fly back to my mind. Soon will be the time to invite friends and random GOLers to sail with me again, and meet many more at La Terrasse. I’ve drunk nothing but water, but my scooter still staggers. I inflate the tires at the next gas station… the scooter still feels as if I were on strings. Could I still be drunk ? Stop at the next gas station (I’m about ready to publish “Geneva’s 50 best gas stations”). Tires deflating… seems better. Two hours left for dinner, shower, grabbing my guitar and run to Pauli’s place. Quick rehearsal – everybody’s just to tired and sick to do it properly it seems - back to my place to get some sore throat pain killer, and zooming towards Central Perk for GOL Open Mike Night number 5 (right ?). Relaxed sound check. A bit more stressful waiting time for my music partners. Here they are. Rick starts playing. After a couple a songs, calls me to sing “No woman no cry” with him… I definitely still drunk. But you’ll never catch me with this one again man ! Eoghan is next. Pfui… that guy’s just too good. One more amazing musician and it’s our turn. I’m so impressed by the previous performances that I’m all shivering (maybe it wasn’t the scooter after all). I make it through the first song like a solider on the front line, but fall down shot by forgotten lyrics on the second one. “Everybody hurts” while I sing the third one… but me too. You know who are your real friends when you’re in trouble some say. If that’s true, Pauli’s a brother ! Thanks mate. Robyn finally comes to save us. One air guitar style song later for me (next time, I’d better glue the chord on my guitar so I can see them… or refrain myself playing a song we’ve only rehearsed twice, even better) and I’m done. I hate myself for being so crap. I’ve got images of burning my guitar and me with it coming to my mind (anyone’s got a lighter please ?). But let’s enjoy other people’s music. A couple of hours later and a zoom go and return to my place to swallow a bowl of cereals and hand my guitar back on the wall (the fireplace’s not far though), I’m at SIP to meet the others. They can play the guitar, fine… but they just can’t dance longer than an hour ! ;-P

Saturday 5:00am… I’m back to my place. Now the walls stagger hard. I think about inflating them… but I’m just too tired. So I deflate myself in bed.

Saturday 4:30pm… where am I ? What day is it ? What time is it ?... ooops, I’ve exactly 30 minutes to get dressed and go shopping for Easter Monday picnic. Sunlight hurts. Phone call from just being dumped friend while shopping… and here I am on my way to her place. She offers me dinner (or breakfast ?) while debriefing. One shower, a post on GOL and some SMSs later, I’m ready to go to Eoghan’s concert at Mullighan’s. I’m not expecting many people to show up, but the pub fills in more and more. Pauli, Robyn, Guitarman, Katrin, JackieChen, Hoiling, Kiriel and some more GOLers arrive one after the other. I’m having a great time chatting with all of them. Soon is time to move to Shakers. It’s quite empty, I’m quite tired, but I make it till 2ish thanks to Helencho, RoxyG, JackieChen and their respective friends.

Easter Sunday; the usual family day including eggs hunting (we lost 3) and stomach inflating competition.

Easter Sunday Evening: GIRL’S NIGHT… at my place :-D
We’re watching a bitchy movie, but the funniest lines are from Katri, Hoiling or Cpott (C for Canadian, I guess, but what does pott mean honey ?) for sure. I spend a terrific evening but my zygomatic muscles really hurt ! Thank you so much girls :-D

Easter Monday Picnic: just as good as Geneva by summer, with a touch of GOL’s spirit on top, can be ! Nice food, great people, cute kids, soccer, american footbal, rugby (or was it Calvin Ball after all ?), mean Uno, nice food again, sunshine, funny pictures, long time no see faces (Nissa, Eagle, Khaled) and friendly new ones… and nice food again (did you even noticed that leather belts shrink in the sun ?). At 7:00pm, some suggest to go out for dinner and a karaoke. Kermit invites me and my son to have dinner at his place. As friendly and tempting as that can be, I take the safer and quieter option: go home. A foam bath is needed for me and my son to melt the mud, grass and sun cream layers away. A quick (and light) supper later, and it’s time to go to bed for my son.

20:30, he asks me with his sweetest voice: “please stay next to me till midnight will you ?”. “I’ll stay for 15 minutes my love. Sweet dreams sweet heart”.

22:00… gee, I did fall asleep. Washing the dishes will be for tomorrow I’m heading straight to bed… what a great weekend we had ! :-DDD
