New-Member Drink -Roof Top Terrace Holmes Place - Geneva 24/06/2009

Hi all,

Of course to start with: thanks to all of you who have attended :)

Luckily the weather was on our side, so we had a perfect sunshine until the sun went down behind the Jura.

The NMD was held for the first time at the roof top terrace at Holmes Place. It was some sort of a try-out evening, but overall I think a perfect evening for the new members who had a great opportunity to meet others in a relaxed environment.

The try-out showed some points for improvement of which most clearly the entrance, smoking policy and where the toilets were. Of course we love to hear your feedback, so feel free to post.

On the bright side: the terrace was awesome with two great lounge corners, the Gin-Tonic were superb and I saw happy faces :D

And the best one: EVERYBODY who left there name and number at the entrance can get a VIP entrance with reduced prize at Holmes Place :w00t:

I liked the place, I think it was a friendly place to know everyone. My vote for it!

I love going to the NMD when they're held at the Mandarin! Time for the broken record..they have the BEST mojito's   and I really missed them on Wednesday.

Unfortunately this felt more like a Holmes Place marketing event than a Glocals NMD. Did not appreciate the "what's your phone number and email address?" (didn't give them..) and traipsing through the gym (and the poor souls sweating their hearts out..) to get to the terrace. Loved the sexy blue hospital booties though, pity I didn't know beforehand..could have colour coordinated my wardrobe

On the plus side...all the happy folk who made the effort to come out and meet new people and our sunny host Arno!

Please, please, PLEASE move back to the Mandarin for the next one.

It was a nice evening. I had fun but i agree with Lannah. Outside the Mandarin next time maybe?



On the plus side, with all these guys coming out of the sauna with just towels on, the place had a nice view ;)

About the rooftop terrace of Holmes Place: we're reading the feedback carefully, to see how to progress. I think we'll probably do another NMD on the rooftop terrace, to give it another shot, and then decide how to progress. Any more feedback welcome.

If we go ahead with the NMD's on the Holmes Place rooftop terrace (which, honestly, is striking) then it's because the venu is right for the event and the guests. However, if we'll receive feedback that the venu is not right for the NMDs, then we will move venu, regargless of our good relationship with Holmes Place.

Re ensuring people read the fine print when they sign contracts: I know that the Holmes Place folks read the feedback here, and that they're on the case.
