Non Smoking Party Lausanne
Saturday night I went to the Non-smoking Party in Lausanne.

I wasn't really sure what I would be walking into: I knew that it was held in a community centre and had feelings of dread that it would be all bright lights and geeks.

In fact the space converts really well. Not brightly lit, there is a bar area, with tables, a space for dancing, and a rather groovy little low-ceilinged mezzanine with beanbags and cushions where you can lounge. We held up the bar for a little while, enjoying a ginger drink, and then snaffled a table.

The music was enjoyable, and danceable, but without interfering with conversation over where we were. I got to have a lovely chat with the other GOLers who came, and passed a very pleasant time. In the majority the crowd were young, (most under 28 I would guess), local, and the atmostphere was friendly and relaxed.

The entry fee of 2chf isn't even noticeable, and the chai tea, brownies and ginger drink are cheap enough that you can buy ten rounds for the price of one in a bar. There was wine available (bio) but one of the others will have to review it as I didn't indulge.

I danced a bit, chatted a bit, and generally had a very enjoyable time of it. I understand these non-smoking parties are semi-regular - I do recommend the trip! Thanks Lentil for organising it... I am already looking forward to the next!

Re: Non Smoking Party Lausanne
Post 1
Thanks to everyone who joined me on Saturday and contributed to a lovely evening of conversation (no need to shout :) and dancing. It’s the second time I’ve been to a Smoke another Air party and once again I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly and cosy but smoke-free atmosphere. As a bonus the snacks are yummy too! I didn’t try the organic wine as I was driving but would be interested to hear the opinion of those who did. Among the group I was also pleased to meet another GOL vegetarian – we are growing in number! :)
The next Smoke another air party will be held in April. I plan to go and will post it. So anyone who fancies joining me from Geneva or in Lausanne is more than welcome!
