First of all thank you to all of you who showed up. It was our biggest meet yet, and it was very nice to meet all of you. I hope all of you had fun.
It's very bad form to blow one's own trumpet, so it's a lucky thing that the idea for this week's photo club meet came from recclestone.
We all met up at Plainpalais and promptly ignored the masses assembled to watch the football game. Started of at the skating ground and trying to shoot (as in photograph and not as in the "I love wildlife and want lots of it on my wall!) the teenagers perform their various tricks. Considering that action photography was not something any of us have ever tried before (with the possible exception of David, who to all intents and purposes is a pro). Then we walked from there to the usine and shot a lot of buildings and graffitti. There were even some kids who left their play and posed for us!! :-)
Fascinating to see the different interests everyone has and their take on things. And just looking at some of the shots and photo setups, you can glean interesting ideas for your own photography. And if there is a novice with a technical question, the so-called "experts" are always happy to impart some of their wisdom.
Looking forward to getting together and comparing the results of our efforts. And hopefully someone else will help us discover their favourite subject for our next photo expidition.
Happy shooting,
S.

Yeah, it was fun hooking up with the GOL photo club. I was surprised we didn't have a bigger turn out since almost everyone here lists photography as one of their favorite hobbies.
One note for anyone who's thinking of joining... you don't need a pro digital camera to have fun... we had people shooting film and also with a point-and-shoot.
P.S. Here's a link to my photojournalism portfolio.
