Scandinavian Party or a short review about bouncers
A short review on the Scandinavian party last Saturday in Lady Godiva's:
or shall I better say a short review of the bounncers there?

We tried to go there Sat. evening - but they told us to wait until some people left the overcrowded party. At the same time they would still let people go in that lived up to their expectations of what an ideal guest of a Scandinavian party should loo like.

When I asked them for the rationale of their door policy they reacted extremely rude and unprofessional.
Given that this pub is 1)new 2)overprices 3)has slow service they should try a little harder.

Personally I will start to boycott places with dodgy door policies.

And let me as you a question: Did you ever see Pubs with bouncers in Britain? I didnt.

Is it me? or am like at every other event? (more on this topic in due time)
anyway.. since no one's posted anything about last friday's Scandi party at LadyGodiva's, let me start by saying, what a crowd when you post 'free pair of air tickets' and many givaways! the place was packed, but I did see a numbero familiar faces.

The morsels of Swedish meatballs with the Norwegian flags floating around the rooms was a nice touch. Having lived with 3 swedish girls back in London.. I miss the Swedish specialties (glaug, kala - if anyone goes to Ikea and would offer to pick me up one, pls let me know! I've run out!!) I also saw Mr. Leurent at work capturing everyone there, and got to see/hear Mr.WRG's Mark Butcher hosting the venue throughout the night.

I even had my very first jello(y) shots this night, all for a chance to win pair of tix on Norwegian Airlines. However, no luck for me, but I did notice our friend Deano (Mr.Curry) claiming his prize - a portable Carlsberg beer fridge and holding onto it for dear life! I don't blame you. Congrats! Now you can keep your beers chilled underneath your desk at work :)

Now if only we could have smoke free pubs in switzerland..probably not within my time in geneva.

When Deano posted this (you never won that fridge did you?...well i hope it was full!)he did mention he wasnt organising anything just more making people aware you could get very cheap beer for an hour so just turn up. Thanks for the tip Deano..its all the encouragment i needed. Perhaps this is why nobody has posted anything.
What seemed strange to me was i thought the place would be heaving at 3 chf a pint. It got busier after the Happy Hour in fact....I got bored waiting to be served and went to another drinking establishment.
As i was leaving i saw people had to queue to come in. Hmmm, thought the standard for English pubs was a "lock in" not a "lock out". But then again i suppose it was a Scandi night.
Cheers
