I really enjoyed meeting many new members this month in addition to my regular birthday supporters. Someone had asked me, 'do you really do this every month? with the cake and all the preparation?' I said 'yes, normally it's not such a difficult thing as long as there's no change in venue, the cake is brought over, some balloons and birthday streamer, nametags, gifts for the charity raffle and folks attending the party! Easy! Plus I always have great helpers and it's fun giving away prizes (I love winning prizes too though) for a good cause.
The winner of the "Trooper Award" for the evening goes to Kathy for not giving up finding the place after walking nearly an hour to find us! But Andrei, I'm reeaaaally sorry my phone was on the fritz so I didn't see it was you who had called :( Otherwise I would have called you back. And it was even your actual birthday! I promise next month i will give you an extra large piece of cake.
Things I learned this month for future event planning:
If you are not logged onto Glocals 24/7, then at least READ the event details on the day of the event if possible, or give me your phone number if you want me to contact you.
If anyone has any suggestions, comments, offers for future help, items to raffle away, offer to bring the cake, etc.. do let me know. There is only a few more of these birthday events so catch me while you can. :)
