Sindy Salsa workshop, Cafe Cuba and Orquestra Gali
...yesterday was one of the greatest days in terms of salsa that I've had in the past year or so.. Thank you all who joined me!

It has all started with the Third Sindy salsa workshop - with a super motivated and fun group that included quite a few GOLers (thank you Violetmoon, SmilingBudda, A_N_, Adel, Hobbes, Jimega, Momali, Martino, KitKat, DavidGlen and Cytronette!) At the workshop the future salsa stars mastered merengue and bachata, discovered that Jang from SalsaVirus (our wonderful teacher) could not tell right from left, admired Hobbes for asking the question that was on every man's tip of the tongue: how do you get closer to the girl you are dancing with?, got tips on where one can get spare hips (in case your own did not seem enough to do the Jang's signature hip swing).. and so on, and so forth.. great laughs and great energy! :-)

Afterwards the party continued at Cafe Cuba... with rrrreeeeeaaaaly nice mojitos and the best entrecote I've ever had. Yumm! The table was reserved for 15, but we turned out to be almost twice as many, with all the people from previous workshops and other GOLers joining us (welcome to the GOL salsa community, Cory, Alain, DD23 and Earthling!). Lams21, Keleko, Ange and others - thanks for joining us (better late than never! :-) ) And who said Cafe Cuba does not have a dance floor upstairs?? We created one and were a pain in the neck for the waiter who could not make it past the GOL salsa-bitten folk doing the crazy dance moves right in his passage. :-)

The final touch was Orquestra Gali at Palladium - a whole orquestra (with over 20 musicians on stage - or was I seeing double after all those mojitos??). Great music, great ambiance, and great dancers!!! DD23 was doing a dance marathon going wild on the dance floor, Earthling has been enlightened by the Lovely_Katya's tips on turning and has made me completely dizzy turning non-stop! Lams21 was combining the moves of salsa and oriental dances, and it was SOOO beautiful!!! Eva (not on GOL yet, but aiming to become the 1000's member) showed us some flamenko, and made us all want to learn... Cyrille76 was also there, the king of the dance floor with his so smoooooth leading and a fabulous smile. GOL girls, if you have still not danced with him, you have no idea what you are missing!!!

much more can be written about last night... but it's better to see once that hear a hundred times, right? So hopefully see you all at future GOL salsa outings!

Sorry this was posted to the wrong forum. So I do repost it here.

All the Geneva Fans of Orqusta Gali were present on Saturday night 19th november to celebrate a special moment in which we could dance like mad, watch wonderful shows from Los Charangueros, swiss champions of salsa in team, Kadanse show team in "black and white" and an unbelivable concert of jorge Gali and his team, living us with tremendous vibrations.

ON http://salsa.tla.ch you have a full report in french with many pictures and videos.

In french at the moment

"Palladium Le Public Acclame Orquesta Gali

Sorry, Christian, our Eva is not the same one as the one in the pic, but she dances just as sexily! And she has exhausted all the men on the dance floor with her signature hip flicks. :-) ... and when all of them were lying in piles catching their breath... she'd continue to dance.. alone! So, GOL men, fresh meat is needed to keep Eva dancing. This Wednesday at the Barrio's??

So there are two Eva doing salsa with Flamenco style. Not bad, I have to know the second one. The first one is my favorite dance partner. So I must really have an opportunity to dance with you guys.

On Wednesday, I do not dance, but on Friday's at SouMoul and I plan to go to Lausanne on Saturday at Danse Passion. May be I could propose this as a GOL activity.

Cheers

Hobbes, my most sincere apologies!

It's true: you were making puffy lips even when I told you I wanted to go home and get some sleep.. and that was way after Eva has left you guys... so you win the prize for longevity on the dance floor and the longest lasting batteries!

Santi, you are no "El Timido", don't pretend to be one. :-) We all saw you enjoying that merengue move I've shown you. A timid guy would go all red and maybe faint, but you were doing it every time you got a chance!!
