Evanescence at Caribana Festival yesterday night was a wet and muddy experience, but a very enjoyable one. I know the band songs for sure, but I never looked at pictures of the band members before. I was then quite surprised when the singer, Amy Lee, entered stage. With her diva voice, I was expecting some kind of Barbara Hendricks looking woman I guess. Seeing that short and somehow fatty girl was a surprise. But, oh my goodness, that girl has what it takes to be a performer. She's got the voice, an amazing one, she's got the attitude, she's got an instinctive contact with the audiance, a great stage madness which doesn't interfere with her singing abilities but just brings the music even more alive. Ok, Evanescence is a big "commercial" band. But they love what they do and you can see. Amy Lee is a true musician and singer. Her song solo on the piano was terrific ! The lead guitarist was also brilliant. Seing his left hand speading over 8 frets and his pinky jumping forth and fro was quite as impressive as his way to hulla hup with his guitar around the neck ;-)

On the comunity side, not so many GOLers in the audiance - they got scared by the thunderstorm I guess - but we bumped into a couple of LOLers. I lost contact when I got a bit more excited by the concert and squeezed to the front of the audiance. Thanks for your company beforehand. Hope you enjoyed it... and CU tonight for
