Hi guys,

Thanks a million for organizing yesterday's trip - I'm not the most enthusiastic of cyclists (!), but I enjoyed myself hugely, finally made it to Yvoire and got to meet some fun people along the way! I'm really looking forward to the next outing :-) Thank you!

As far as I'm concerned, my major feat of yesterday was getting out of bed at all (had a hard night out with the girls on Saturday ;-), the trip to GE was a piece of cake in comparison. Thanks to Helen for encouraging me to take the plunge and come along. So... have a great week, and I look forward to seeing you all next time around.

:-) Liz

Thank you again for ALL to have come though the rain threat. I was afraid that nobody dares, and this time again we were 12 having good time cycling along the lake :)

We had NO rain, only clouds and sun spells. Excellent picnic at the fair of Nyon, then very nice trip in countryside around Nyon.

We ended up taking drinks in Bain des Paquis.

Thanks a lot PV, it's good to have an excellent cycler to help, and to Swiss for the smile and good mood.

This time I will not forget to collect photos to post them. I will regroup both Sunday Cycling photos. For members who took some, please send them to guillaume.germain at cogitee.com. ;)

Next week we do a shorter 30 km trip in countryside around Geneva.

We might start by the brunch at 10.00 at the Bain des Paquis, then start at 11.00 as usual, but in front of the Bain des Paquis.

Thanks again for all those that came!! :P

Dear Guillaume and dear PV, aka big brother ;)

Thanks a lot for another FANTASTIC Sunday. Lots of "new" faces and of course "the usual suspects".

Had a great time, despite the fact that my daughter was grumpy when we joined this morning  :w00t: (well if teenagers can party, then they can cycle too - and YES, parents are here to embarass the children ;) ...and guess what, Liz enjoyed the day

HELMETS - HELMETS - HELMETS

Please bring your helmets to the next cycling trip (YES, including myself) and SORRY guys, was not planning  to scare to you - I was just pointing at a Restaurant in Nyon :hehe:

Liz, well done, once again you managed to join us all the way from Lausanne

Aaron, sooo COOL that you made it :)

Trevor, thanks for all the good laughs during cycling and in Bain de Paquis

PV, you really have some hidden talents, singing and cycling, well I enjoyed it :)

Over 55 km again - hey guys - I'm getting fit ;) THANK YOU! :)

Thank you ALL , see you next Sunday with HELMETS!!!

Have a fantastic week - big hugs H.

Once again I made it to Geneva from oh-so-far-away Lausanne ;-) after a hard night out with the girls and an afternoon's serious drinking at the Caves Ouvertes *LOL*

Thanks again to our GOs for organizing the trip, and for 'arranging' that the rain held off for the duration - the few drops we had don't count, you don't know what cycling in the rain is until you've done it in Ireland ;-) Thanks to you guys, I got to see Geneve-Nyon from another perspective than the train. Thanks also to my fellow cyclists, your company made it even more fun. Looking forward to seeing you again for the next round!

Dear Guillaume,

Thank you for organizing another fantastic Sunday! 13 people, it was just so nice to see to meet so many "new" people, so welcome to the Sunday cycling group ;)

We must have done about 40km - even uphill bits - never complaint even once :w00t: must be "the new, second hand bike" which I've bought yesterday at the "Bourse aux Velos" organized by Pro Velo Geneve. And yes, I managed to cycle uphill, so miracle's can happen...

SORRY guys that I managed to loose you on the way back - was trying to make sure that we don't loose anyone ;) I blame it on the bus in front of me... oh boy, I managed to loose you :hehe:

I'm fully aware that I have no sense of directions, GLAD I manage to find my back to Geneva... somehow JulianT's words from  the famous hike last summer came to mind...just follow the way :hehe:

Thanks to my fast bike, I managed to arrive way ahead of you at Bain de Paquis (to be precise, 40 minutes ) ;)

Thanks for all the good laughs, cycling with you is just sooo much fun. See you next Sunday. ;)

Pvou, you mean almost everybody made 82 km? Did you ride back to Geneva or take the train? Wow, maybe it's good that I joined the hiking with JRT instead!...? What time did you get back?

alright, i admit it. i made a dumb decision about when to cross the road. but in my defense, i was crazy tired!! this trip kicked my ass. too many hills. having actually been hit by a bus once crossing the road totally legally in a cross walk, i'm actually unusually careful crossing the road. but by sunday afternoon, i was delusional. lol! but i was good about being in a single row on traffic roads. one good thing counts, no?

thanks, pv and guillome! and guillome's friend whose name i didn't catch!

I'd like to say a big thanks to Pvou for organising this bike ride #7

which I thoroughly enjoyed. I believe we did very well,

over 40km with quite a few climbs (sweat) and downhills :)

Even the weather did not follow the forecast and was kind to us!:D

It must have known the proverb (in German): "Wenn Engel reisen, lacht der Himmel".

The dried strawberries taken along by berlinoise were really delicious.

Too bad, Quita did not announce her unorthodox dismounting of the bike,

this would have made great pics. ;)

I definitely will try to join again, but will be away next weekend.

cheers

I enjoyed the cycling with you all guys.

Some hills were very hard for me but at the time I could hardly take it anymore, PV came to my rescue by pushing my bike from behind.....Ain't that sweet :D Thanks PV!

He's also very skillful and fast at repairing bikes! You do not need to worry about flat wheel!

I'd like to join again, but this Sunday I'll be away. Have lots of fun guys!

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to talk about my all star performance! :hehe: And I am sorry I didn't give enough advance warning for you to take some award winning photos.  On a serious note, I'll use this opportunity to put in a plug for wearing helmets.... it certainly saved me from a much more serious injury.  Sorry I gave everyone a scare ;) ... a big thank you to everyone who helped me.

Pvou - thanks again for organizing.. the ride was fantastic... lots of beautiful scenery.. fun hills... and great company.

See you this Sunday.... looking forward to more of Liz's delicious strawberries.

Thanks a lot to Guillaume and pvou to lead us to Yvoire yesterday.

There were over thirty at the start and to lead such a large group

was asking for the impossible.

In addition, one of the group caught a flat tyre which had to be fixed.

However, our guides found some really nice cycling paths on the way

to Yvoire so that we avoided the roads with car traffic.

I really enjoyed it, even if the heat was getting to us (well, to me at least).

The picnic in the shade at Yvoire together with the ice cream alone

made the whole trip worthwhile.

Some took the boat home to Geneva which must have been a nice journey.

Many of, however, rode back to Geneva - we took the straight route -

and split up in groups of different speeds.

I hope that all made it safely back home.

Everyone can be really proud of themselves.

We must have cycled about 65 km which is a lot in this sveltering heat.

I'd like to thank again Guillaume and pvou for coping with

such a large herd, sorry group.

cheers

Franz

Piere,

Thanks for organising a wonderful ride on Sunday with Guilliam.  This was my first event with Glocals and what a way to begin an active relationship!  I was just really pleased to find people who like cycling and see where the activities develop.  I used to mountain bike almost weekly but since relocating to Geneva I have not found like minded individuals to get down and dirty!!!  However, cycling in the heat of +30 C on Sunday is a whole new skill set and one I need to build on ...with the road bike...next time.

Great to meet so many wonderful individuals and varying backgrounds.

I am looking forward to the next event...hey guys where are we off to?

many thanks,

Annie  (I think Amy referred to above was meant to be me). Hugs.
