In my humble opinion, these cinema evenings are getting better and better, especially the conversations during the drinks/dinner afterwards. So many ideas, scams and stories that emerge during the evening, I love it.
The movie was great too. I didn't like so much the beginning though, it just reminded me of some modern Oliver Twist version, but once Mr. Baldini a.k.a. Hoffman was put on scene, the movie really took off and caught me. Some more open questions perhaps :
* Why did the perfume apparently have no effect on Grenouille himself ? Perhaps he is an angel after all ? Would that also answer the question that was raised yesterday on where his bones were after he was "eaten", in other words, do angels have bones ?
* What is up with red-haired women ?? Both his first, all inspiring victim and the last ingredient were not so bad looking red-haired women !?! Do we have any on GOL we could do some tests on ? ;-)
Also, were there any red-haired women in ancient Egypt during the time of that legendary perfume ?
* And finally, wouldn't you like to know how "it" really smells ? I would ...
Many thanks to everyone who was there, and to those weren't : you missed a very nice evening indeed !

... but I was dead tired and needed to recover from partying too much in Lausanne.
Next time I definitely join the group again.
So now I guess I will wait till the perfume comes out on dvd and enjoy it then.
have a good week

Be ready for the consequences though. Remember that even the priest was not spared.
The film was engaging and that somehow helped me not to fall into sleep. The discussion on the movie over dinner was interesting but what kept us really glued to our seats were Bjoy's endless stories. Great company (Michael, Jess, Lumi, Tarun and Bijoy)!

The movie was good, even though for me, the jury is still out on if the protagonist was a sympathetic character or not. The question is, why do the French actors have English accents?
My stories? I gotta learn to keep my mouth shut more often.:-)
