Turkish Dinner
Congratulations to Mary (MARMARK) for organising the Turkish dinner. After a quick Pint at Godiva's it was a short walk to the Restaurant where we spent the evening eating and chatting. I for one enjoyed the discussions with some old and new friends.

A lovely dinner it was indeed!  This restaurant may not be sophisticated, but it has good food and the owners were very welcoming to us. The company of course was without parallel, charming, erudite and ebullient. We were, however, sadly lacking in belly dancers... volunteers for the next one?

Thanks for organising a really lovely evening out.

well done Mary mate!

I wasn't there (I was, as usual these days, baby sitting TomTom), but the feedback is great!

As I right that this was the 1st Member-Activity you threw together?

CHALET DU GRUTLI remind you two of anything? Neither of you were there unfortunately but:

I organized that and enjoyed the presence of some of glocals' finest. We were in a solar powered chalet over the weekend with no showers and no shops anywhere near. The path up is for one car only and so most people had to hike an hour with our food, drinks and personal supplies. There would not have been music without Wayne and SimSim, coffee without Nanou, a hilarious murder mystery without all the characters and I could go on. The whole place had to be cleaned and Archie and I brought all the rubbish, glass and metal back DOWN the mountain afterwards.

So who REALLY organized the weekend? Who cares?

These activities don't work without people who come to them fullheartedly like Hobbes, SimSim, Tinkie, Wayne, Nanou, Elizabethbleu, Julian (who did NOT organize the event but who was the narrator in the murder mystery), Elda, ChicChoc, Irishka, Tebi, Maksi, and many more. Every one of them was what made the event. I will organize another one this summer and hope the same people come plus more. They didn't come to just party. They came to MAKE a good time for everyone.

In activities like the Chalet du Grutli, you see that it is different people who come there as opposed to a participant (or organizer, may I add) of such "member-activities" as  "Let's all meet and drink". Although both activities are definitely a pleasure!

:w00t: you said it! You wrote it! We have proofs! You HAVE TO make it happen now! I'll sue you if you don't! :D

:hehe: hihaaaa, I'm in, I'm in, I'm in! I just hope the price won't reach a "million dollar kebap" as Tim pointed out ;)
