Seems that some guidance would be useful for a few event organizers.
Often, there are basic things to think about, for both organizer and participants, such as:
Giving phone number to call in case of latenesss or any issue
Giving a easy address
Being there in time (specially the organizer)
For non-drink events, planning some coffee/meal right after drinks after the event (so good the hot wine or fondue after the skiing for instance)
If possible organize an activity already made before
