I spent a couple of weeks travelling up the coast of Vietnam on the train, fabulous experience and amazing country (especially the food!). Places to see travelling up or down the coast...
Mekong Delta
Ho Chi Minh, hectic city full of life
Nha Trang - beach resort, you can also take a trip to the mud bath which I am sure kids would love!
HoI An - must see, lovely heritage town next to the beach, favourite stop on my trip
Hue - we hired bikes and cycled through paddy fields
Hanoi - from here go to Halong Bay for amazing scenery and take a boat trip
Not sure about specifics of travelling with Children in Vietnam though.

Thank you so much. I will start exploring all this now. How long did you stay there for. Do send me the details of hotels where you stayed if possible. I hate checking on the net but prefer recomending. Puja
