Bergen, Norway
I'm still here, but I've had such a great day so far I just wanted to recommend Bergen to anyone whose not yet been.

It's a fantastically beautiful place (when it's not raining), but more than that it has a really cool & youthful feel to it. The people are friendly and helpful (even the stupendously beautiful women), and the bars are packed and fun, despite the crazy price of the drinks. The hiking seems great as well (did a short walk up into the hills today, and the views rival those from the Jura)

Actually, I don't want to come back to Geneva. I think I might stay. ;-)

I actually have a trip to Oslo planned for 24 - 27 May - too short, and we are trying to pack in everything we can...yet I'm tempted by the Flam Railway/Bergen experience and am wondering if we can or should try to fit it in....any thoughts on whether Bergen is the better bet, or should we stay in Oslo to enjoy sculpture gardens, Viking ships and great nightlife??

... So I can't really help. Just come back from Metro club in Bergen and had an excellent time, so all I can say is - Bergen is really not bad at all. Off on a fjord cruise on Monday, so hopefully the good weather will hold

How many days do you have? You can do both. I went to Bergen from Oslo and back to Oslo for my flight. I did the Norway in a Nutshell tour, taking the Bergen Railway from Oslo that takes you to the Flam Railway station, which then takes you to the boat for the fjord cruise. I swear you will regret it if you won't take the fjord cruise (check this out- http://www.norwaynutshell.com/default.asp). After the cruise, you can either stay a bit in Bergen before heading back to Oslo. Bergen is a very nice city and it would be a pity not to do a visit.

If you want more details, we can meet and discuss. Just send me a message.
