Hike in Alaska

I am going on an Alaska cruise in mid-August, and want to spend a week to hike somewhere between Fairbanks and Anchorage. Anyone know of a contact for hiking guides, groups, outfiters, etc, there?

I'm not sure what you are looking for as far as a hike, but St. Elias Alpine Guides may be a start for ya. They operate out of McCarthy, Alaska but they do trips in other locals.

Not sure if things have changed, but it was possible to camp in Denali National Park or do day hikes (with or without a ranger) into the park. Most people stay on the bus that goes up and down the only road (no private access), but you can hop off anywhere you like and just explore. My knowledge is based on 8 years ago though, so worth researching...
