Can any of you recommend a shipping/ moving company that would be able to transport about 8 suitcases and boxes of possessions from Geneva to Edinburgh (Scotland).
I'm looking for the most inexpensive option.

Take them excess baggage on flight! It will be the cheapest option by far! I could diliver them for you by road but it would be costly! I can do it for you no problem.
