well, I haven't found Nairobi particularly cool. Have travelled in a lot of places, this is one of the few where felt not that comfy after dark. I would recommend Mt Kenya national park, really beautiful with fantastic vegetation (lobelias etc) and there are a lot less people than on the Kili. Then there are obvioulsy the game parks as well... Nairobi for me was more a place where there is the airport and you try to get as soon as possible (e.g., Guatemala City)... Hope there are some other people who know the good side of Nairobi and can counsel you Wink

Hi SimSim, would suggest you visit instead any one of the national parks outside Nairobi.

October; 1) is migration season, if you visit the Masai Mara you'll get to observe wildebeest migration. Definitely worth it!!!!! 2) In Lake Nakuru, the lake in the middle of the park is filled with pink flamingo's.

One place I would strongly recommend is the "Carnivore" restaurant. I hope you're not a vegetarian because this place serves mostly game meat including zebra, ostrich, crocodile etc.  It’s a safe area, it’s easy to get to, you eat all you want and the atmosphere is amazing.

I used to live in Nairobi and the best general tip I can give you is to stick to the places made for tourists no matter how daring and adventurous you are.
