I'm beginning to plan a trip for my brother (visiting europe for the first time) and i.  i'm thinking of going to rome, through switzerland, and france.  


 


if you have places/hikes/inexpensive places to stay/transportation recommendations, i would really appreciate it!

Hi - yes, my cousin is arriving from Australia in early July and I sent her the following... might also be useful for you:


Good websites a for cheap accom are: couchsurfing, airbnb, hostelworld. For hotels, booking.com / HRS.com.  Kayak for flights.

If you are positive about Rome, and there's still one month of time before the departure day, you may get to Rome by train with 38 euros: 19 for the Geneva-Milano leg (approx 4 hours), 19 for the Milano-Roma leg (approx 3,5 hours).The catch, of course, is that you need to book the trip in advance!
