Hi, I am looking forwrd to and planning my December vacations. I would like to ask the friendly glocals here about possible Sun/beach options in December which are not astronomically expensive. Touristy or non-touristy options. What do you recommend?

Had a fantastic holiday there a couple of Decembers ago. Accommodation is very cheap. Not sure how much flights would be from here though.

Lamu, Malindi, the magical Indian Ocean, The Sunny beaches, if you have energy to hike, Mt Kilimanjaro awaits you.
If you are into jungle wild business, the 9th wonder awaits you in Maaasai Mara. Kenya ,right where Equator passes. Twelve hours of Sunshine per day and 12 hours of Darkness 367 days a year!

Close by, I'd suggest Portugal, although it wont be hot in december, but mildly warm :) there's many sunny and rusticly beautiful places, and its very cheap!
Lufthansa has a special on right now, to south america too. In december it will be summer there of course, and its cheap to travel around :) I can highly recommend Argentina and Chile!!

Well, recommendations may change depending on what exactly you would like to do ... just laying on the beach, diving, walking through a tropical forest ...
In that sense, Canary Islands and Madeira may offer diverse activities and fine cuisine in addition to temperatures in the range of 20°C while keeping the flight time and costs in reasonable levels, thought that certainly depends on the precise dates you're considering ... and there are plenty of more exotic destinations
