Great idea, sounds like fun!  I like travelling around and exploring, especially trying to find the non-touristy bits, I like trying to see a place as it really is not just the usual sights. 

I'm pretty new to Geneva too, I moved here from the UK in December on an adventure... new country, new company, new job.  What about you?  What brings you here?  It'd be good meeting up, so if you feel like it give me a shout.

Thanks for your responses!  I will need to organize a get together some time soon, perhaps target beginning of next week... Maybe I should create a Glocals Group for this.  

I am thinking about taking the train to Marseille this weekend and I'm also thinking about doing a trip to Barcelona in the near future.  Been to 3 or 4 other cities in Spain, but never to Barcelona... drop me a line if you have any interest in either...and I'll let you know the details.

Yep, you've certainly started something here and got people interested! 

I'm definitely up for meeting up with everyone and would like to go to Barcelona too.  I went once on business and didn't get to do much but the little I saw made me want to return one day.  We're in a good place here so it should be easy to visit loads of places.

I will create a group on Glocals in the next day or so and let all of you know.  We can then organize a few meet up in Geneva for people and get to know one another and exchange ideas.  If booked in advance many major cities from Geneva are rather inexpensive.  Also, I've found that instead of using the commercial hotel web sites, can use hostelbooker.com that has the smaller boutique hotels that are too small to be on the commercial sites, many of these hotels are excellent and great rates.

Hello evrybody!!! I'd love togo to Vienne and Prague too, also i'll be interesting to go to Rome and some others cities in Italy.

Just for your information, The 2nd of June Thursday is bank holiday in Geneva so if we request the friday we can have a 4 days weekend to plan anything or maybe we can take the mondy too!!!!

Also 13th June Monday is also bank holiday so we got 3 days.

Any suggestion?? 4 days to go to Prague or Vienne is going to be more than enough I think...
