Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm planning 10 days holidays in Greece mid-September. Plan is to go hiking and visiting + 3 days sunbathing on one of the beautiful beaches. Anyone already did such a trip?
Ideas of treks and hotels (** or ***) would be very welcome!!
I look forward to reading you.
kindest regards,
A.

Greece starts getting cold in September...at least in the evenings so pack a sweater. Decide what you want to do in advance - beaches on the islands or visit classic ruins. Or both. Fly to Athens and see the Acropolis, then take a ferry to the islands. Mykonos and Santorini are more expensive than Naxos. Rhodes has it all to some extent. And you can get across to Turkey too. I'd fly to Athens, spend a couple of days there and then head to some islands. Maybe Santorini, then Crete, or Mikonos-naxos-Santorini....or fly to Rhodes from athens and see the islands around there such as Symi.

I am going to Greece in a few days. Flying into Athens and then going to Naxos ad Mykonos for 3 days each adn returning to Athens for a couple of nights. I was split between Santorini and Naxos but decided ot go to Naxos since it has the best beach in the Cyclades. Hope this helps.

Btw. I booked all my ferries at www.danae.gr. Pretty easy to use and gives you good options. Good luck.

I was in Naxos recently. You can see the whole place in 2 days, and car hire is cheap, maybe 15 Euros a day for a really small car and 25 for something a bit bigger. Therer are lots of hidden beaches but frankly they aren't that good. Just go to the one at Agios Propoksomething (end of the day here) or St George (more crowded). The town is good - there is a freat restaurant called East West - check them out on facebook and you can become a friend and claim a free t-shirt. Avoid the Mexican at Santa Anna that you see advertised everywhere, and also a bar called Bananas. both have slow service. like 20 mins to bring the menu, another 20 mins to take the order, another 20 mins to receive it.....and as for getting the bill :(
