I am planning which marathon to run this year.
Any experiences, hints (Berlin and Nice already done)?
Venice sounds quite nice.

So are you trying to decide which marathon to run??
I haven`t run Venice, but I have heard its a nice run and very popular....entry is capped so its not as large as Paris, London or Rome, but haveing run some races around that size (6000-7000 runners), I would say Venice would be a good bet (as far as atmosphere, small(er) races are cool easy to maneuver around. The course seems easier to run (than Rome for example), little cobblestone and its flat, so Id go for it. Id also get registered soon as the field is limited and its a pretty popular local. Youll be running on some stairs but the organisers will cover with boards so there^ll be sharp inclines, but no trip inducing stairs.
I would join you but I am already running Rome this year, and I might pick a fall race away from from Italy as I travel there quite often. I might run Istanbul in October for the novelty of running a race on two continents, however haveing been there last week I can say it would NOT be a easy PR making race as Istanbul has rough, but paved, roads and many hills, in spite of that the city has good vibes and thats all I need for a fast run. Venice and Italy definetly has good vibes and a good fun crowd. So go for it! :)

Thanks Pia for your detailed feedback!
I saw Istanbul and am almost tempted to do it after your description! Let me know how it went!
I called the Venice organizers today and they didn't want to tell me how many people are already subscribed but obviously still have space ;)
