If the high price of hotels rooms has got your get-up-and-go down, if you are looking for a more meaningful interaction with cultures than the occasional bonjour or g'day mate to the locals, or if you are curious about other people and their customs and are willing to open your home to near strangers, www.couchsurfing.com may just be the Web site for you.
Couchsurfing.com is a site featuring profiles of people across the globe, offering their couches to travellers for the mere cost of washing the dishes or emptying the trash. Essentially, the site is made up of pilgrims or those who embrace the wanderer's lifestyle.
Every user is linked to the other users he or she knows in the system through a network of references and friend links. In addition to the solid network with friend link-strength indicators and testimonials.
It's totally free, I belong to this network since 3 years and I made great travel and hosting experiences. I hope GOL members will be intersted too in this social network, you can ask me all questions you need it about it.

I had a look on your couchsurfing profile
You should add photos of you and your wife, and fill the sections " my interests " and "personnal description", because your potential hosts need to know a little bit more about you
to ask for accomodation don't send me a copy of the same message to everybody, personal messages are more appreciated: begin at least your message by the name of the CSmember. Read carefully their profiles and if you have common points of interest, speak about it in your message
Try to avoid last minute requests, and explain why you want to visit their place, you can ask them tips about what to see and what to do in their country, and even if they can't host you it could be interesting to meet local people to take a drink.
you can find good tips here
