i went there for a long weekend with my host family and really enjoyed it. i saw:

the east side gallery - the longest section of wall still remaining

check point charlie - a museum crammed to bursting point with information about the wall and its downfall

the jewish museum - an excellent museum - reserve a coupld of hours for it, i wish i had had longer there. walks you through the history of the jews and their religion from jesus' time to the present (i think - i didt have time to get that far :-( ) there is also a very poignant memory void in it

The jewish memorial - opinions vary about this. i personally thought it was excellent and one of the best memorials iv ever been to. personal experiences of it differ each time depending on who you're with. take time to walk through it. there is a museum underneath which i didnt make it to (shut on mondays)

the wall documentary museum - a free museum with a view point over an original section of the wall and the death strip. original pictures and footage from the walls life time

i also climbed the tower which gives you a birds eye view of the city and took the audio guide which is interesting. only do that if its a clear day tho.

also saw the gates which are on every postcard.

for travel i bought day passes and used the public transport system which was excellent. didnt make it out much to drink tho - was babysitting!

hope that helps.

just broadly referring to them!! ;-) also names of museums -eg jewish and wall documentary are in german. cant remember the official names...

also not many people speak english there, so take a phrase book. my german is extremely limited and i felt quite embarrassed walking around expecting people to speak english!

I was just there last weekend - metro system - no one pays for tickets, so just hop on and ride around the city - it's great! Potsdammer Square was a great place to see the old wall artifacts, plus near some nice hotels, restaurants, etc. all right there.

The 'TV Tower' was fun to ride up (although for a price) and has a chic restaurant on top with city views (weather allowing).

Our most unusual find was stopping near the TV tower to the Radisson SA for drinks - there is a huge fish tank in there (one of the world's largest??) and something not expected to find here.

Otherwise, take in an afternoon walking tour (they all start at Brandenburg Tor area daily) to see the 'big sites'...great knowledge and fun way to see the city (and walk off drinks from night prior...).

Cheers!
