http://www.london-eating.co.uk
i can speak for sheekeys and bentleys for fish, Red Fort for Indian.
I read a few of the reviews .. and Chutney Mary sounds great !
For drinkies at a hidden gem, you should try to find an alley called lancashire court, the entrance is on the corner of Bond St and Brook St [sorry Mayfair prices.. but an incredibly charming place]
bon app !

Wow, too many good places to choose from. You might have to be a bit more specific on areas that you want to go. If it's Indian and you are looking for something fairly central at reasonable prices I would reccomend trying any of the places in Brick Lane for "English" curries and Drummond Street for a bit more traditional and vegetarian curries.

i just got back from london and was introduced to tayyabs while there. i went back 3 times in 4 days, it's that good. it's on the east end at the whitechapel tube stop. very crowded very loud but quick service. the mixed grill appetizer was amazing (indian spiced lamb chops anyone?) maybe not for a 'special occasion' unless you get seats in the VIP room. good luck and good eating!
