travelling around a lot, i've found that renting a flat for a few days is generally cheaper and a lot more convenient than staying at hotels.

i might be spending a few days in Miami for new year's (i know, that's months away...) and i'm wondering what the best would be in terms of renting a flat for 4 people. the websites i've found aren't all that useful and as i don't know Miami at all, i don't even know what would be a 'good' location (ie safe). and cheap, if possible. it doesn't actually have to be IN Miami, if anyone knows of better places to spend a few days not too far out of there (meaning, no further than 2 hours drive, so we don't have to spend hours getting back to the airport when we leave), i'm sure that'd be fine too. 

any tips?
