Annecy is quite nice and close-by to Geneva. Evian is not so nice but close to Ivoire.

Just follow the signs for chamonix on motorway, turn of before... there should be signs. This is my favourite place in any weather.

Its very beautiful around the lake and into the old town, has great places to eat lunch, lots of interesting shops and its a lovely drive on the route national (don't take the autoroute) but exit out the back of St Julien (N205 I think) through Cruseilles. Its about 40 kms.

On the way is a great bridge - Pont de la Caille and you can stop at the car park and walk across the old bridge which has stunning views down the gorge.

When you get towards Annecy, follow the signs all the way to the Le Lac and then turn right along the tree lined avenue for a great entry to the town/city. You can easily park on the lake front in the big car park just on your right.

I have done this trip many a time with friends and also by myself for a lovely day out... if not this time, maybe another!
