travelling to Mendrisio

I am planning to go to the Foxtown in mendrisio. What is the best way to go there by public transport?is it better to take a train to Milan or to via Lugano? Also are there any reasonable hotels there?

Hi,
i would say the easiest would be to travel via Lugano.
there are coaches that take you to Mendrisio from the Bus terminal in the centre of Lugano.
Taxis would work out as extremely expensive and not really worth it.
The best was would be to get a few friends together, rent a car and make a weekend of it.

Thank you Luca. I will take the train to Lugano then. I have a car but there is no way in which I can drive such a long distance with tunnels in between:-) Thanks.

Hi,
if you go by car vie the Mont Blanc Tunnel it will be much faster (only 4h instead of 6h owth train).

2. like luca's suggest.but it take 6h05-6h30mins.
its a longway but i think its worth if u want buy some famous brand with good price.
also there is a beautiful routing view.

Just to clarify...driving from here to Mendrisio via Italy will take Max 4.5hrs.

Thank you all. I will take the train as I hate driving long distance. It wil give me an opportunity to enjoy the view.If I were to drive I would be a bunddle of nerves by the time I reach Mendrisio. Thank you.
