I just arrived in Zurich 3 weeks ago. I'm also looking for a climbing society/club/wall/whatever.
I can teach you you the basic techniques, knots etc. I have some 4 years experience with indoor + outdoor climbing. Let me first get my equipment shipped over and then I'm ready to got :-)

I have organized a wall climbing activity with a certified instructor in the past and plan to do it again...will keep you guys posted...

 You can start any time of the year - there are nice places where the rock gets still quite warm due to southwards sun exposer :-) So no worry as long as the weather is good ..... I will be out Saturday and Sunday....

 hey guys, should we organise a climbing event where we have one or two instructors so that the complete beginner is not feeling lost? i'd limit it to 10 ppl though.
i'm thinking of renting a wall or so...
