I actually did this all summer long few years ago in France and want to get back to it. It is great fun and great work out.

never tried it, normally i do the faster version being pulled behind a boat on a wakeboard

i will try out the one Ehsaan mentioned in his post as if you go a lot then it seems to work out cheaper. last year i went to http://www.bootsvermietung-seefeld.ch/Z%C3%BCriwake/tabid/64/Default.aspx  but you need 3-4 ppl to make it worth while unless you're a read addict. i also went to a place in lachen as i work in schwyz so easier for me to go there straight after work. Lake is still too cold to wake unfortunately at the moment but as soon as it warms up i'm back in the water! there's one or two more place that do it around the lake so if ppl are interested i'm happy to try to organize an outing sometime as i love doing it :)
