Hmmm I forgot the name of the place as I don't frequent often in Geneva, but... if you know the location where the canons are, if you stand with your back toward the staircase coming up from the shopping streets, you have more or less in front of you a really good restaurant that should be exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks Jeroen, I think you are talking about Les Armures in Geneva. I am actually looking for a place in Zurich :)

Indeed Les Amures, as for Zurich (clearly read over your message, saw Geneva last and thought of that one ;), try Zeughauskeller (http://www.zeughauskeller.ch), it is near Paradeplatz and they have an excellent selection of food, see their website for their specialties which guests tend to not forget.

Then there is of course also Kaufleuten (http://www.kaufleuten.ch) for a more classical approach, Hiltl if you get vegetarians over, Terasse (http://www.bindella.ch) if you want one of the best steaks in Zurich (and the price to come along with it) and you can try Le Dezaley (http://www.le-dezaley.ch) for a little bit of french cuisine (their cheese fondue is excellent ;) )
