Hi,

I am moving in Zurich end of April and would love to have the chance to start playing tennis again after years...

Let me know how it goes and if you have any good ideas.

I'd love to start playing tennis again. I used to play a lot each summer in England & France. Indoor courts are expensive (between 60 and 80 CHF per hour I think) but may be we could get a mixed doubles going?

The weather seems to be improving - we might get away with playing out doors - which could be less expensive...

what are peoples preferences here?

What day for Play suits you? Week day or weekend?

If week day then I'm assuming most people would prefer evenings. Last time I organised a Tennis round-robin club we always played on a Monday or Tuesday night as these were the less busy evenings of the week. Does that work?

If people reply then I'll see about booking a court or 2 within the next week or so. I'll let you know cost beforehand.

As far as playing standards are concerned there's no need to worry - just have fun. The more people the better the chance of getting a balanced match, early days there are always mismatches - which is fun anyhow ;-)

I like playing tennis a lot. In the company I work we have outdoors tennis courts, so we can organize a double/single game. Time is 45 min maybe longer if we play late in the evening, about 19,00. Who wants to join?? the court is in Horgen...

Hello,

I moved in Zurich (from Paris) a week ago and I'd like to find tennis partner to play whenever you want because I don't have a job yet so I'm quite free !

I used to play tennis quite well but I haven't played much for the last past 5 years...but I still know how to hold my racquet :-)

Hi Francesca

I've just noticed your thread that's quite old. Are you still playing tennis? I've had all of 5 lessons so I'm certainly not going to enter for Wimbledon just yet(!) but there's space for another beginner I'd love to join you.

Hi Pauline

I will be on holiday for 2 weeks but once i am back we can certainly play tennis together. I was even thinking to book a tennis court for the season at Lengg, do you know it? It is in Zollikon, Golden coast, close to zurich tiefenbrunnen. Would it be convenient for you? They even have in door courts which is perfect for the winter season.

@ Nina: Woudl you be interested as well?

Let me know and talk to you end of the month.

Cheers,

I have tried to look around for courts to rent but all sites are in german and many seems to be only for members at the clubs.

So It would be great if Francesca or Vic.B could suggest somewhere to go :)

Hi All,

Here is the place I play. You do not need to be a member, but you have to reserve a court as they are usually always booked.

Belvoir Tennis Club

Address:
Tennisclub Belvoir
Strandbadweg 15
8002 Zürich
Tel. 044 201 30 96
[email protected]
www.tcbelvoir.ch

If anyone would like to play, I try to go once a week, depending on the weather.

Cheers,

Hi everyone. I am also quite interested in playing tennis, once or twice a week, preferably on the weekend or on weekdays after 19:00-19:30.
I know a court where you can book online (http://www.mytins.ch) but I think you can only book if you are a member of ASVZ (academic sport club of Zurich).
My level is begginer.

Christina,

Here is the answer of TC Belvoir

"You cannot pre book courts in our club. But during the day you can go to the
clubhouse and if courts are unused you can book them for CHF 20.- per hour.
If you want to book in advance you have to go to the open courts of the city
of Zürich next to our club."

If the weather if fine tomorrow, we could meet at 3.pm there and see if there are some courts unused ?

Hi!

I'm always up for a rally.  I'm around this weekend and would be thrilled to play (especially if the rain stops).  I play at the courts along Mythenquai.  The Web site is www.tennis-laufen.ch and it's easy to make reservations -- 044 202 32 43.

Hello Christina,

OK for 1.00pm at TC Belvoir. Rickard is also interested, maybe if we find someone else, we may do a double ?

See you then,

Pauline

Hi all tennis folks,

I was so happy to see this post as I also am an avod tennis player so I woul dlike to find people of the same level to play. Hence the first predicament.

Here is an excellent scale:

http://www.tennis.ubc.ca/level-of-play.php

My level is 3.5 except for serve where I am a 3. If anyone s interested drop me a line!!!!!

thanks

Tibi

hi there!

I just found this post.

I love tennis, but I'm pretty out of shape. I'll happy to play tennis in the weekends. I'll keep an eye at this thread to see if there is any volunteer :)

see you,

Domenico
