Do you mean hiking as in hopping down to Wallis and going for a hike, or as in going around all the forests and lakes around Zurich? (I did a great 40km bike ride over and around Adlisberg last weekend)

Either way, if you want to get out of here, just yell and we can see when/what/how.

They organize a lot of hikes. I've been with them a few times and it was really nice! :)

I created a glocals-hike group long ago. At the begin, I organized regulary hikes but as people often make no-shows, I reduced my activity here. There are several other admins in that group.

I love hiking and Nature and go also  regulary privatly outside glocals with my friends or even alone.

I do not like the hikes on Meet-up as the groups are always too huge - sometimes 30-40 people joing, which is not really relaxing for me; and for me hiking is not only sports, but also getting in touch with Nature where you can enjoy it and relax and not go with such huge crowds ( this is my opinion ) . But you are free to try on Meet-up.

If you wanna organize hikes on glocals, just join the hike+outdoors group and I can give you the authoraziation of being one of the group admins. Then you can post hike activities via the hike group and invite all members. If you have any questions or feedbacks, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks all for the tips. I just registered for meetup.com this morning and saw they have more hiking activities than glocals. Esperanza, I did organize few events myself - when I lived in Lausanne, mainly museum and concerts visits. But I though there might be people more experienced in organizing hiking in the Alps than me.

Oh and Jeroen, I went for the hike to Creux du Van with Silvia last year :-) So I don't think I'll join for the second time. Anyway, I might organize something myself here on glocals (then I would let you guys know) or join the meetup guys. It would be waste not to do something active, since we have such a nice weather! ;-)

Fully agree on the amazing weather, I just went shopping by bike in Dietlikon and grabbed a bite to eat in Oerlikon, it is awesome to see the sun again.

Don't hesitate to ping me if you are organizing a hike, or just do it in the hiking group. eg make the page on meetup and cross announce it on the glocals one or so, I might become convinced to join that too, though I agree with Esperanza, if one has a group of 30+ folks, or for me 10+ already, it becomes a bit unwieldly to actually get to quietly enjoy the nature with most people likely chattering about ;)
