Hi everyone!

Being outdoors with kids is great. Hanging out with friends and meeting new people is great. So, let's go hiking!

While I'm not a mountaineering expert, I do love to go hiking and love the outdoors. Taking kids with you, though, might require a change of pace, a change in the things that you notice and look at while hiking, a change in perspective. Some hikes will be better for older kids who want to go zooming straight up a mountain and leave their parents breathless trying to keep up, and some will be aimed at small kids who like to stop and collect leaves, who might run out of energy on longer trips, and who might just sit right down on the path in protest. (We've all seen this happen, yes?) So, with that in mind, I will try to describe each hike in advance. I will also aim to vary the level of the hikes, so there will be activities for everyone.

Also, it's worth mentioning that each hiker is responsible for themselves and should bring water, sunblock, insect repellent, snacks, appropriate shoes and so on, as they see fit. :)

We are lucky to live in an incredibly beautiful area, full of wonderful hikes! While I have some favorites, and some books full of hikes, I would love to hear your suggestions. Please feel free to message or post any thoughts or questions you have.
