Recently opened (mid-January) Burger Joint just a short walk from McD and Starbucks in Plainpalais.
Great selection of burgers and artisanale beers.

Great burgers! I used to be a real purist when it came to burgers, always ordering cheeseburgers and keeping the toppings simple, but Holy Cow! has opened my eyes to the possibilities. I've tried most of their burgers by now, and each one has a really good mix of flavours, with different cheeses and sauces for each one. Their chicken burgers are really good, too, and in spite of what another reviewer said, you can have a nice salad instead of fries, but the fries are so good I always order them! They cook their burgers using fresh beef and you can tell, they are really juicy and tasty. Good beers, too, and they are super friendly, which is pretty unusual for restaurants in this part of the world.

It's simple: good burgers, fast. I like it a lot.
If you want a gourmet sit-down burger, this ain't it. But if you want a good burger fast, this is THE place.

My friends and I met one of the owners on NYE who told us about it. Finally, yesterday it was lunch time and we decided to go.
Best Burger I've had in Geneva! And I've tried them in many places (I'm american, after all).
They have a huge selection of burgers - standard and with lots of wild varieties. I had the Elvis Blue Cheese. Yum!!! It sounded odd, but it was scrumptious. I was hooked when I read "gorgonzola cheese.'
And the fries, chips, frites - whatever you want to call them! Thick, light, piping hot, not *too* much salt....... also the best I've had in Geneva.
It's also a pretty big venue and they say they have outside seating for 70 in the summer.
If you want a great burger, give it a try.
But, I'm not happy with the drink options. Very not happy.

I like it. The chips are delicious and the burgers are nice along with the service. I'm not too keen on the caramelised onions they put in burgers, so I get the spanish and mexican ones instead.

Excellent, I'd highly recommend Holy Cow the burgers are delicious and they serve proper chips!

I've been only twice to the one in plainpalais, and was never disappointed. Different and interesting selection of ingredients, nice bread, good meat, and I loved the fries. And I also find the portions quite generous.

I’ve only ever tried the one opposite Cornavin, but I love it, and have been a few times. I’ve found the service (especially delivering burgers) very friendly, and the food itself is delicious – certainly plenty of chicken, as well as the delicious toppings in the chicken burgers. I really like the bread too, and the chips. And I think the portions are pretty generous – I’ve never left hungry, and usually absolutely stuffed!
(I’ve also tried Inglewood, which is great, but personally I prefer Holy Cow burgers)

The burgers aren't too bad, but always seem to be over-cooked and so a bit dry.
The fries are terrible - very fatty and an unpleasant texture. They seem to cook everything in advance and keep it sitting somewhere, which means quick service but it has an effect on the food.

I go probably once a month and every time i've had fast service, the burgers are hot and the fries hot and tasty! Love the caramelised onions and cheese burgers! If you're looking for relaxed, nothing too fancy, but good burgers, then this is great! reasonably priced too, especially for Geneva!

I love it!
I ate there several times and never complain. my fave is the one with gorgonzola sauce ( i think it's called elvis or something).

Yes they have horrible burgers!!! Too much old bread and cold meat, didn't even warm it up, the bread was falling apart, i am so surprised at the reviews here......

Terrible burgers!! If you like the taste of bread more than meat, head to this joint. I really can't believe these reviews. I know that as Xpats we were deprived of decent burgers for a long time... Yes, it is new, and it's a step up from McD, but NOW THERE ARE SO many other OPTIONS: Inglewood, The Burger Foundation Truck, Remore, Tesoe, Pauly's Burgers (at Marie de Geneve) and loads of other restos are doing great burgers now.

Excellent burgers and I happily go every week however the staff and very specifically the cashiers are just really unfriendly.

I went there with a friend tonight. The good thing is the food and the pricing. It was horribly crowded and noisy, however, with picnic-style tables and benches.
Clearly an excellent hangout for students, but it would be pointless to bring a date, as you would have to halfway shout to communicate. Staff was friendly and helpful. Burgers served at the table and were excellent, in my opinion. They don't serve salad(?!).
I would go again, but outside peak hours or for take-out - and they should bring in the damn salad.
