I made the mistake of celebrating my birthday there last Friday. I had a positive experience 6 months ago with a big group so I thought it was a good idea. I didn't know they changed management and the waitress/bartender was very rude and not welcoming at all. I made a reservation for 25 people and the whole night, it felt like they didn't want us to be there. To think the place was empty and we were pretty much the only customers! My guests complained as well. The food has deteriorated, too. Overall, a very unpleasant experience! Never again!
It may be fusion food that's on the menu ...whatever that means...but the place got no soul! It has the atmosphere of an airport departure gate....food is passable.
The manager has to be the rudest and weirdest staff member in a restaurant I have met in a long time...Average food, high prices, uncomfortable seats and the impression of being on top of one another with the other tables... I do not recommend this place at all!
"the food is good asian fusion and good atmosphere, but I found the drinks (in the lola part) to be quite bad. The cocktails taste funny and I got really bad headaches from the wine."
Limited menu but everything tried was good esp the sesame chicken. Don't like the minimalist decor and uncomfortable seats - not a place you want to spend the evening at - eat and leave to a cozier bar.
"great place to hang out as a bar while nibbling some starters. Nice deco, comfy seats, decent (nothing exceptional thou) food. Moderately Pricey if compared with the quality of the food, but this is geneva and we pay for the ambiance, the style and the music. Nice but i wouldn't go there if i wanna have 'dinner' (as in eating well more then a social occasion). More a place to hang out with friends and eat something while at it."
Le Comptoir was the first modern in place in the middle of the nineties. They really evolved also with nice events.
"Agreed. Over-reaching itself on the food front, apparently conceived as first an aesthetic statement, then a high volume cocktail outlet. Client?le seem to have the same perspective, and certainly their aesthetic appearance improves, too, with the flow of iridescent cocktail gloop... Hilarious to see human vanity also in full flow... don't miss it."
"Less a successful fusion of ingredients and cultures - more a marriage from hell. The flavours are unbalanced and the dishes lack taste. It's a shame, because the decor is original and the music fantastic. What's more, the attached bar, Lola, deserves the prize for best newcomer of the year. But I'm judging it on food, and for me that means two stars."
"If only the food was better, this place would get 6 stars. Cos the ambience is nice, the clientel is cool, but the food is very mediocre."
"I've been here twice and neither time was I impressed. 'fusion' does not mean throw together whatever you have in the kitchen, sorry. The decor is nice and it's a typical 'Genevois' chill out sort of place but I wouldn't got back to eat anytime soon."
"Good and moderately priced food (Asian Fusion cuisine, predominantly Thai). Minimal decor and ambient/ down beat electro music. Loads of international guests. Try the chicken w/ honey and sesame."
